Conservapedia's list of its most-viewed pages would be hilarious if it weren't so disturbing:

Main Page‎ [1,902,689]
Homosexuality‎ [1,541,712]
Homosexuality and Hepatitis‎ [516,721]
Homosexuality and Promiscuity‎ [420,139]
Homosexuality and Parasites‎ [387,872]
Homosexuality and Domestic Violence‎ [350,963]
Gay Bowel Syndrome‎ [342,650]
Homosexuality and Gonorrhea‎ [331,066]
Homosexuality and Mental Health‎ [276,531]
Homosexuality and Syphilis‎ [265,017]

That's right: More than three-quarters as many people have been to Conservapedia's "Homosexuality" page as have been to the front page, and over a fifth as many have looked up "Homosexuality and Promiscuity." The question, I suppose, is to what extent these numbers may be driven by readers who are gay and perhaps closeted or uncertain about their sexuality, and to what extent they're simply a reflection of American conservatism's political obsessions. Regardless, they're pretty astounding.

There's a thread on this, and I went and looked at some of the articles.

I hope nobody uncertain of their sexuality is looking there because it's propaganda dressed up as information.

It's bizarre, that's for sure.

I think it's a bit unfair to label "conservatism" as a whole from this crap, though. Doesn't that site appeal to the real right wing nuts, rather than more mainstream folk????

I voted for Ronald Reagan and for Barry Goldwater, b4 him.

Neither I nor the other conservatives with whom I have social conversations
have found it necessary to spend much time in deliberation
concerning the merits nor the shortcomings of homosexuality.

well, it's obvious now, all american politics are based on the out gays in the democratic party, and the closeted gays in the republican party.

this explains our foreign policy too. the liberals try to lubricate the world, and the conservatives try to **** it in the ass.

When I vote, in NOvember, my goal is to elect candidates
who will strangle domestic government, as well as possible,
restoring the l'aissez faire free enterprize of the early republic,
as I wud, if I were elected to the office in question.

I, for one, don t stop to consider queers, when I vote.
There r more important issues.

@nimh,
It appears that Atheism now tops the list for conservapedia searches. Are conservatives now more obsessed with atheists than homosexuals? Smile

@rosborne979,
I guess conservatives are just asking more questions about it than they used to, thanks to Dawkins, Hitchens, Harris, and the likes.

Conservative as to WHAT ?

If u mean political conservatives,
we are more obsessed with keeping and conforming to
the ideals of the Founders of the Supreme Law of the Land,
the US Consitution, which is a secular instrument.
(in other words, libertarianism and individualism)

If someone opts to be an atheist or a homo,
that 's no skin off MY back.
