Thailand makes a really big deal out of Chinese new years. I went to Wat Chalong in Phuket the other night which was at the centre of the celebrations in that province. There must have been 50000 people at the celebration, markets etc. Of course the Thais also celebrate the Western new year and the Thai new year in April. I think they just like to party!

Actually dor jeh is how it's pronounced, or at least as close as English
transliteration can get to Cantonese. It means "thank you".

If it's a boy you can name him Arnold.

Your last name isn't Ziffel by any chance?

I went to Super 88, our big East Asian supermarket to see whassup, and indeed, was met with a promenade of dragons and drums. Fun, if too loud in closed environs.
I am celebrating with rice cake and other goodies. Feng shui or whatever you say. Simply Happy new year!

I'm a monkey.

Do you know that famous song by Ren and Stimpy: "I want to be a monkey, monkey monkey monkey..." well I got it lodged in my head firmly ever since I read your "I am a monkey" and you are to blame.

I am a dragon, which tien tien also doesn't mean.
