Yes, that's Lucy... my daughter's daughter, who is due March 9th. This is her second child, her first having died of "SIDS" last April 4th.
We are all very excited about Lucy, but of course my daughter and SIL have major issues regarding it (SIDS) happening again, or will she look like Oliver and be too much of a reminder of him, etc.
It's a scary but wonderfully joyous time - so much anticipation, so much apprehension.
I will be posting here when the big event happens.
I'm sorry to hear about your first grandchild, Mame.
And by the way, you are one hot grandma.
I am so happy for you and your daughter, Mame. I know how difficult
it's been for all of you, and although Lucy will never replace her older
brother, she'll bring new life, and a new beginning.
Good luck to all of you!
Gosh! What an exciting time.
This is what it's all about, huh?
Thank you - I am very happy and excited. I am starting to love her already - it's a wonderful, wonderful feeling.
Congratulations in advance.
The 9th month of the pregnancy is always the longest. You have my best wishes--and please pass some on to your daughter.
Hold your dominion.
Grandkids make older age worthwhile. Congratulations.
I believe, once she has arrived, she will demand to be loved for her own personality, and I know it will happen!
She will be Lucy, the much wanted daughter and granddaughter, and not Lucy, the one who lived, while her brother had to die!
I am very happy for you, and for Lucy who will be spoiled rotten, I am sure of it!
Looking forward to the pics! And glad that everyone involved has some good news and something to look forward to.

I'm SOOOO looking forward to it.
Okay, she's overdue!!! She was due March 9th. On Monday (is that tomorrow already??) I think she's having a membrane sweep and if nothing happens, then Tues afternoon she's in for inducement.
God, what makes babies so damn late??!!
Mame,
So sorry to hear about your grandson. Lucy, I'm sure will be an angel and bring lots of happiness to your family. Both my babies were two weeks late. I was induced the first time and I went into labor the day I was to go in to be induced with my son. So much worth the wait!
Born on the first day of spring? That's a good omen.
Wait patiently, Mame. Don't devil your daughter--let her dither and dither and dither to you. Grandmothering isn't all fun and games.
Nah. Mame needs to nag her daughter about eating spicy foods in order to induce labor.
Then daughter can vent.
...and driving over railroad tracks.
and and and
(sozlet was two weeks late, too.)
Little Lucy-love's still not here and no word yet of the membrane sweep...
One of my dear friends has birthday tomorrow - so maybe Lucy wants
to be a "spring child" too. Good luck for your daughter, Mame, and Lucy
of course.
My son was two weeks late, too. Fortunately, I had a very experienced, patient doctor who kept reminding me that no one has ever been pregnant permanently. The baby will come when it is ready.
