That's what I was thinking too. I'd like to play, but being a rookie might make you all start throwing stuff at me Laughing

I consider it exceedingly unlikely that anyone here will play more like a rookie than Gus... but I suppose we could organize an open event for ALL A2Kers and a second for those of us who think we're good.

If you ladies (or anyone for that matter) just want to play for fun: both Full Tilt Poker and Poker Stars have sharp software that isn't too hoggish on resources, can be played for free... and even have "Freeroll Tourney's where if you defeat a large field they will throw you real money. Every 5 hours or so Full Tilt runs a $100 Freeroll with 2700 entries (fills up in under a minute, so be ready) that pays the top 27 finishers between $2 and $15. If you are very lucky; you can than build an online bankroll from there without every having invested a nickel (if you don't count the 5 friggin hours it takes to sort through that many morons for a lousy $2 Mad ). One Pro; Chris "Jesus" Ferguson is several months into an attempt to go from Zero to $10,000 without a penny of his own money, and I thought I heard he was doing well.

Good find, darlin! My poor laptop now has 8 different platforms on it, but the rest only offer Private to cash games.

Craven, Gus, Frank Apisa? Anyone else? Let's rock.

I used to play a lot of poker (I have an older brother who taught me)
but I really need the thrill of seeing people around the poker table
and physically read their body language and call their bluff.

No online game can give you that.

Craven, are you in Calvin's Poker tournament? It's on TV just now. In Costa Rica. I know less than nuthin about poker, but I was still staring at the players for good ten minutes trying to see if you're there... Very Happy Didn't see you though.

I will crush Bill like a bug. Like one of those cicadas invading Chicago. The sound of him being crushed beneath my poker heel will be music to my ears.

I have to download something? Uh oh.

I'd like to play, as long as it's free. But the downloading will take a toll on my overall health and well being. Then I'll be playing at a disadvantage. Not that I wouldn't be playing at a disadvantage anyway. But it's nice to have an excuse.

Er...well, in the case of downloads, it normally just needs a click or two....but the village stands ready to support you if you need us.

Have you checked the sites Bill mentions?

Deb, I have a dial-up. It could take hours for something substantial to download. And then the fun begins. Where'd it go? How can I find it? What do I do next.

dadpad, lol.

Roberta; Dial up will mostly slow you down acquiring the program. After that it mostly lives on your desktop and the packets of information are relatively small. Step one: Click here and follow the download instructions. It's VERY user friendy so you shouldn't have issues.

Gus, I'm ready when you are. At Poker room we can set up a table at will, but all players must populate it fairly quickly (Strangly; full tilt wants 4 days lead time to set one up for you Shocked).
