Well?
It was a day in late Spring that we both had off, and figured our families would, too.
Im not married or palnning on it but its my brothers this saturday!!!!!
They have been together for a few years and thought why wait so they thought to not wait for good weather. Its all arranged and they are glad they are not waiting afew more months.
My then-fiance was being sent out of state on a project for a year or so, and his company gave him a firm move date. We wanted two weeks for a honeymoon cruise plus a few days to pack and move, so we scheduled it on the last weekend we could.
We chose May because it isn't too hot or too cold. We chose Friday evening because around here you have to wait about two years for an available opening on a Saturday. I let Mr B chose any Friday in May of the coming spring. Cinco de Mayo happened to be on a Friday that year and he chose it so that he'd never forget our anniversary.
I was starting grad school and we wanted to have time for a decent trip, so we just counted backwards and got married in August.
I think we just picked it. No specific reason.
We knew where we wanted to have the reception and that was the "best" date that it was available. (Good weather, mostly. It was indeed a gorgeous sunny day but on the hot side.)
Congrats to your brother, MG!
We both love early fall, so we chose a date in September. Then my
cousin chose a date in October. The family didn't want two weddings so
close together, so they they asked us to move our date. My cousin had
issues with school finishing, families out of town, and other things, so they
couldn't do theirs any earlier. She didn't want to move it to too much
later because my aunt (her mother) had cancer and not much time.
So we moved it to May, and it worked out well for us.
My aunt made it our wedding, but my cousin had to have a separate
private ceremony in the hospital chapel as my aunt by that time was too
far gone to leave her bed. She lived to see her daughter get married but
died within the week.
we waited til I graduated 8th grade.
It was the first weekend after my fiance's last day of teaching summer school.

I graduated on a friday so we wed on sat, she was preggers (so she said) 15 years later she gave birth.
Oh, and for my first marriage, I chose the closest date that would allow me to get a license and pre-marital blood work complete so that there would be no time to talk myself out of it again. I'd already called it off twice prior... I should have listened to my inner voice.

The only problem was, I wasn't the father.
I hate it when they lie like that, I bet she wasn't even the real mother, neither.
We had done all the paperworky stuff a while earlier but sat on it for who knows what reason. Then one Tuesday Mr. B said "Let's get married this weekend." and I said "Okay."
We called a friend who is a judge and he stopped by the house on Saturday morning and married us.
January 1.
A new beginning.
Everybody say "awwwww...."
"awwwwwww"
We got married on the first anniversary of the day we met.
