Light snow starting this afternoon. But then, according to the radio, 6-12 inches on Friday.

That would be 1 - 3 inches according to Weatherchannel.com, at least for here in the Boston area. You sure you're not hearing the forecast for Springfield?

No snow, but it's 12 below this morning. Not even the dogs want to be outside. Not to worry, though. We'll be cooking at 15 degrees before the day is done.

It's starting on Friday, not today. Rolling Eyes

Let's say the snow will be 3-12 inches, depending on where you are in the Commonwealth. Cool

...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY MORNING THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAUNTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY MORNING THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING.

THIS WATCH INCLUDES CENTRAL AND NORTHERN MASSACHUSETTS...MAINLY NORTH OF THE MASSACHUSETTS TURNPIKE.

SNOW WILL OVERSPREAD THE CONNECTICUT VALLEY AROUND DAYBREAK...THEN SPREAD EAST ACROSS THE REGION DURING THE MORNING. THE SNOW MAY FALL HEAVY AT TIMES...ESPECIALLY DURING THE AFTERNOON INTO FRIDAY EVENING. A SLOW AND DIFFICULT EVENING COMMUTE IS ANTICIPATED.

THE SNOW MAY BRIEFLY MIX WITH SLEET NEAR THE MASSACHUSETTS TURNPIKE...BUT ALL SNOW IS EXPECTED TO THE NORTH.

THE SNOW WILL GRADUALLY TAPER OFF AFTER MIDNIGHT BUT WILL LIKELY CONTINUE MUCH OF FRIDAY NIGHT. TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATION WILL LIKELY REACH 6 INCHES OR MORE.

A WINTER STORM WATCH IS ISSUED FOR THE POTENTIAL OF ACCUMULATING SNOW OF 6 OR MORE INCHES IN A 12 HOUR PERIOD OR 8 OR MORE INCHES IN A 24 HOUR PERIOD. ANYONE TRAVELING IN THE NEXT 24 TO 36 HOURS SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO MODIFY TRAVEL PLANS SHOULD WINTER WEATHER DEVELOP.
