Now that Joseph Barbera is dead, it maybe proper to remember him and Bill Hannah, with a little poll.

What's your favorite Hannah-Barbera cartoon?

I just voted for Top Cat and DO NOT understand why it wasn't a smash hit in the US.

In Mexico there's a sort of Top Cat cult.

Huckleberry Hound began it all for H-B, on TV. Of course, they did Tom and Jerry, in the movies.

The Flintstones were totally IT for me.

I kinda thought they might be real.

Somehow.

My beloved stapler and The Flintstones.

Nobody said I was a straight-up kinda kid.

Here's the "other" , fbaezer. (remember, I'm not Noddy)

http://offthekuff.com/blog/misc/HenryChickenhawk.jpg

Senator Leghorn was a satire on Southern senators, and I loved it when he would tell that Henry chicken hawk. "I say; I say. That boy talks so much his tongue is sunburned."

Never saw Top Cat, I'm afraid.

I didn't know "Gallo Claudio" (Foghorn Leghorn) was Hannah-Barbera's!

Two of my brothers-in-law are (in translation) nicknamed Foghorn and Henery.

I liked Scooby Doo and Yogi Bear (who is smarter than the average bear).

I never saw Top Cat though.

What's that cartoon called with drivers racing and there's this bad guy and dog who always loses?

foghorn leghorn was a warner brothers characer not hanna barbera.

I liked snagglepuss and magilla gorilla but yogi is a family member so he's my favorite.

top cat was a prime time evening show at one time.

MAybe Im older than you guys (I was born in 1950) and I just thought that all HB comics were lame. The jerky movements, the plots. I dont know, I was a Warner Bros kid all the way. (Except for that short dalliance with R J Squirrel)

Hannah-Barbera also made the movie of Charlotte's Web. I thought the animation so piss poor, I never watched all of it.
