Ignorance fits you so well. I don't kiss anybodys ass & have said that Bush is not a conservative & that he has pushed socialist programs through as well. In fact, liberals should love him!

Hillary Clinton is a socialist, for one thing, the most important thing for my reason of not wanting her to be president. She talks out of both sides of her mouth, she is a firm believer in "win by any means necessary', AND she has proven several times that she can be walked on by a man. She isn't strong enough mentally to run this country. I'm not saying she isn't intelligent enough, she's not strong enough.

If Hillary Clinton were a socialist, she would have my complete support (except for the unelectability thing).

The problem is to be a socialist, you have to stand for something. Hillary hasn't shown the backbone to stand for any imporant causes.

But Socialist??? You give her way too much credit. Hillary isn't even a true liberal.

Hillary is for whatever she thinks will be good for Hillary. Her ideal is to foist a socialist health care system on this country that will decimate the good care we have now. Read a book called "First In His Class" by david Maraniss, you'll see where her heart lies, Lenin/Marx would be her mentors if they were alive.

The most important point is that you and I (who are on opposite ends of the political spectrum) both agree with the statement "Hillary is for whatever she thinks will be good for Hillary."

The fact that both people on the right and on the left have the same impression of her should be enough to sink her candidacy (at least I hope so).

For the record, I think her attempt to get a measure of socialized health care was one the few worthwhile things she has done. But fixing the health care system will have to be done by someone with more credibility.

But Hillary pisses off people on both ends of the political spectrum. This is not a very good thing for a presidential candidate.

I thin, correct me if I'm wrong here, but you & I have actually agreed on something. Shocked I still believe that her heart belongs to socialism.

If only you were right....

but, with your definition of socialism most Americans are socialists and a socialist will rightfully win the election.

As a moderate, I have the same perception. I also have the perception that Hillary is more interested in being elected the first woman President than actually doing the job. Not, that I think she'll get the chance (agreeing with those who think she's unelectable), but there is no reason to believe she has what it takes.

Most Americans are in tune with gimme? is that what you're saying? Most Americans want their earnings spread around to many that don't work because they don't have to, some socialist program will take care of them. Most Americans wants to take care of illegal aliens every need? You really believe that most Americans are socialist?

Most Americans want to keep social security, and most oppose privatizing it.

Most Americans are willing to pay more taxes to make sure everyone has health insurance.

Most Americans agree there should be a mininum wage.

Most Americans who voted, voted for Democratic candidates in the last election.

I just thought that these things all met your definition of socialist. You can correct me if I am incorrect in this understanding of your belief system.

Hillary is a Senator from New York and she acted as Senator FOR New York not the United States. When she is President she will act for the United States and not only for New York.

She hasn't done much for Upstate New York. She concentrates her power base in the city, just like most liberals do.

Yet she does elected for senator for New York despite her baggage and unelectability.

I disagree with several of stands; however, I think most of you are wrong about her just being for herself. She seems to be pretty consistent in her views and does not seem to change them with the wind. (Unless I am wrong, I don't keep up all that closely)

She has always been fairly conservative for a liberal if her book was anything to go by but then on some issues she comes out fairly socialist (regarding health care, workers rights and middle class issues...) I agree with her on all those issues which is why it makes it conflicting for me when I consider some of her other less liberal views.

But if it came down between Hillary and McCain (who in my opinion has sold out) or worse, that Giuliani fellow, I would vote Hillary.

McG
As usual you are just passing wind. H.Clinton to the surprise of some has been an excellent senator and advocate for the people of NYState.
I would suggest you look at the results of the last election to get a picture of how the residents of the state view her performance.

Yes, in New York. A state that was chosen in part because she thought it would offer her the best chance of getting elected. It really doesn't provide much information on how she would do in the rest of the country.

I'm not saying she can't get elected as a Senator of New York -- obviously, she has. I'm saying she can't get elected as President of the United States. Also obviously, very different things.

That's interesting. Do you have any authority for that?

Unless something changes I intend to support and vote for Hillary.

Of course, you never know what might happen, george could have himself made king or military dictator or something between now and then and this entire conversation could be strictly academic.
