I can honestly say I never knowingly drank that beer.

(of course I was often quite inebriated during the day...or was it seconds?...that Billy Beer was popular so I may have unknowingly partook of the liquid)

Everybody I saw with Billy Beer bought it for a collector's item. Eventually, they threw them in the garbage.

I sat on a metal chair on the porch of a general store in Plains and drank Billy Beer one afternoon traveling across Ga from one gig to another. We went out of our way to do it. The beer sucked but it was a cool memory.

Robert C. Byrd is still in the senate in West Virginia, and will become the pro tem now that the crats have gotten back control of Congress. He may even still play the fiddle.

Jimmy Carter was our 39th president. His brother Billy, an unapologetic hillbilly, became known for imbibing, and attempted to cash in on his persona by involving himself in a beer named for himself--Billy Beer.

It was a minor fad, not all that funny.

Billy Beer was indeed a short lived fad...but it fared better than "{Roger} Clinton Cocaine".

I feel honored that you think so often of me, at least enough to devote a thread to what I think.
Since you did take the time to get my thoughts on thsi, Billy Beer is much like jimmah peanuts, the billy beer was tasteless & soon went the way that it's maker did, died. Jimmah peanuts were thrown into a vat & nobody knew, nobody cared that jimmahs nuts were chopped up & pulverized.
