My grammar pet peeve is when books don't have commas where they need to be. This grammar pet peeve annoys me because sometimes I have to back up and reread the sentence to understand what it's saying. I read one book where apparently the author or editor believed in using commas very sparsely. To me a comma signals a pause in reading and sometimes that is very important.
