All of us are stupid sometimes. It's that realization of one's own stupidity that can help a person grow in gravitas. Some don't, of course, since they don't apprehend themselves correctly, especially when they live in white houses.

A friend of mine loves to use popular expressions but he has never gotten one right. Among his classic gens: "this time the shoe's on the other hand".
Once we went into a store to do a couple of things and he said "let's go in here so we can kill one bird with two stones".
Another time we has to wait for something and he said "you know what they say, a watched clock never boils".
He is unaware of how funny he sounds until I point it out to him. And he walks among us...
