No. They call dragons dragons. They call people by their last names.

That's not answering my question.

in figurative Japanese language or in Japanese slang-are brave, hardy men referred to as "dragons?"

I know some Japanese and I have some knowledge of Japanese culture and I am not familiar with the term in that context.
