I heard a story on the radio this morning about a guy who was engaged in a sexual act with a deceased Black Labrador. The police were summoned and the guy was arrested.
I think that would have bothered me, seeing such a thing. Hell, even if the dog was alive it would have bothered me.
Sheep... I can see, but a dog?
Opinions please.

How long had the dog been dead?

Well, assuming the offense wasn't occurring on my front lawn, it might not bother me half so much as the dog. Which is to say not much. However, I'd probably call the cops anyway, for fear of what the dog lover might go after once finished.
Now, once and for all, keep off my goddammed lawn!
Was it a male or female dog?

Gus knows where to draw the line.

precisely my question.... and how did it die?
It was a male dog that had been run over by an ice cream truck.
It didn't take a direct hit and wasn't flattened.
Well if he's gay, too, that just makes it wrong.

From an ethical perspective, is such a distinction meaningful?

From a mess perspective it is meaningful.
Yeah. Messy is just WAY wrong!
Only Gus can speak with authority on ethics in bestiality.
My way of thinking is if the dog had been flattened into a pancake shape and the guy was just kind of poking around, hoping to find an opening... well... there might have been kids in the area. You wouldn't want kids to see such a thing.
If, however, the dog was still in fairly good condition and the guy was screwing it, he could just tell an inquisitive child that he was trying to push it across the road, out of the way of potential traffic.
You have to think these things through.
Knowledge, skills and ability-- Gus has it all!
