Snood- when you have Firefox installed and click on the downloaded file, Windows will pop up a window saying "Open with". Choose Firefox as the program to open it with. After opening the file, you will be informed that the plug-in will be up and working when Firefox is restarted. So close Firefox and restart. That should work.

Hahahah... okay!

Very Happy

Right then, wanted to see if that would work for you or if there was another problem, but as it did, I might as well post it here for everyone:

- Did you download and install Firefox properly?
- Did you and right-click and save-as the file named "phpbbuserhide.xpi" from http://thumper.kicks-ass.org/wordpress/phpbbuserhide/?
- Did you then open "phpbbuserhide.xpi" in your Firefox using file -> open file?
- That should lead you to the extension install dialogue. After installing, closing and restarting your Firefox the X's should be there.

Oh yeah! Another good way to install the xpi. Right on, Thomas!

Shocked

Well...whoodathunk I'd have smaller ears than Thomas'?

I can only get ONE finger into each ear!

Alternatively, you have strange arithmethics in down-under. Here in Europe, we use a total of two fingers for a total of two ears, hence: fingers in ears

Thanks ... I think way too many folks think tech stuff is way "thech-ier" than it is, and I think that's mostly the fault of technogeeks who just don't try to explain things simply and in depth. Gotta admit a good chunk of my tech savvy comes frome stepping back in dismay, muttering to myself "Damn! I wish that hadn't happened - now how can I fix it?" Laughing

Yeah, what DrewDad said. Some of us are trying to make a living on the Tech Mystique. Don't ruin it, buddy, or someone might slip a horse head on your pillow someday. And a Godfather viewer like you knows what happens next ...

I use FireFox, but I don't think I'll add the ignore function. It's the feisty folks I want to read anyway.

Not that any of you will have seen this. Laughing

I'm not sure I'd use the ignore button, but I like the concept of having it.

Face it, some of us can have the occasional fascination with train wrecks..
