Now, let me see who I'm going to add to my ignore-list...
<looks around>
Yeah but..... what took you so long to pony up with the goods?
My handy dandy scroller works pretty well, not to mention my penchant for reading without absorbing.
edgar, if you and I felt like gnats before.....
Ah, well. We can always be hangers on on gus's threads.
I've taken to giving him smooches on the rap battle thread, c'est la vie!
Dys, I'm honored (really).
By the way, In general, I think that--with exceptions, like that of this thread--it is a bit unamerican to shut up when it comes to politics. We are obliged to speak our minds.

I just wanted to read along and see how you people felt about the idea of curtailing Free Speech....
umm.... given the celebratory mode, I think those from the left and the right are a-ok with an ignore button.
Yeah, it's really just the digital equivalent to sticking your fingers in your ears, singing "nah nah nah, I can't hear you!"
I'd like to add Mozilla but am a little leary. Something going on with flashplayer and settings and my suddenly getting lots of little blue squares on my saved newswebsite articles. Once I trash the random offending article, the squares fill in with photos. I've a newish computer (IMac) and still haven't figured out to see how memory is holding up. (Yes, I know I should fix the settings re flashplayer.) Thus... my way of sayin', I'd like it if the new A2k had the ignore button. I might yet get Mozilla, just not this week, as I don't need any computer crashing for a bit. I have outlook express on here as well as safari, haven't used the o.e. Will get rid of it once I figure out how to entirely get rid of it.
This a long way of saying I'll scroll.

For all of you who are using Mozilla Firefox or another Mozilla browser to A2K: there's an extension which allows you to hide specific user's posts! It adds an
[X] next to the username:
By clicking the
[X], you add that poster to your personal ignore-list. If a user is hidden, you will merely see his username and a link to display the post, but all his posts will be hidden:
Remove a poster from the userlist by simply clicking the
[X] next to his username again.
The official extension can be downloaded from the
Firefox Add-ons website. However, the extension you'll find there only works with Firefox 0.9 - 1.0+
If your version of Firefox is 1.5.x, you can download a compatible extention at
http://thumper.kicks-ass.org/wordpress/phpbbuserhide/. You may need to right click > save as, then file > open file in your Firefox.
What if I got Firefox 2.0?
I usta have Firefox 0.0, but it didnt do anything.
<bada ding.. I was here all night>
Doesn't appear to be a 2.0-compatible version just yet - may be one soon, dunno.
Hey timberland,
how can I get an older version that I can use with the right extension for an "ignore" feature? Everytime I click on a link for a download of an older version, I get bumped over to the "2.0" download page.

They're not curtailing free speech...they're curtailing listening.

... and only their own, not anybody elses. Old Europe put it well, it's like sticking fingers into your ears.

snood, you can download the English (US) Windows version 1.5.0.7 of Firefox
here.
(All the older FF releases are archived
here - all languages and OSes included).
Sorry for being so dense, but after I downloaded 1.5.0.7 and the extension you mentioned below, should there be 'X's next to the usernames ? Because there aren't.
O.E.:
I did what you said, and it worked. Thank You!!
