The Ignore-Button

For all of you who are using Mozilla Firefox or another Mozilla browser to A2K: there's an extension which allows you to hide specific user's posts! It adds an [X] next to the username:

http://i14.tinypic.com/2d7vx48.gif

By clicking the [X], you add that poster to your personal ignore-list. If a user is hidden, you will merely see his username and a link to display the post, but all his posts will be hidden:

Remove a poster from the userlist by simply clicking the [X] next to his username again.

The official extension can be downloaded from the Firefox Add-ons website. However, the extension you'll find there only works with Firefox 0.9 - 1.0+

If your version of Firefox is 1.5.x, you can download a compatible extention at http://thumper.kicks-ass.org/wordpress/phpbbuserhide/. You may need to right click > save as, then file > open file in your Firefox.

Thanks OE. I knew there was a reason I was using FF.

I just installed it, and it works like a charm -- the imposer of my favorite American founding father is invisible but for the username.

Thank you so much, Old Europe!

I wonder how much activity FF is getting on the add-on site right now Smile

I almost always disagree with you, edgar, but this time I profoundly disagree. You can count on me as a loyal reader.

Me, too edgar - I don't always agree, but you have a heart and you make sense to me.

Yup. Pretty good sales pitch, huh? "Surf with Internet Explorer, surf through doodoo."

Even after I dissed you on one thread? For which I felt a need to apologize, but didn't?

Had to do with capitalism/socialism, or something.

It's a marvellous extension, isn't it? That alone would be worth switching to Firefox for. Glad I'm already using it Very Happy

Now, let me see who I'm going to add to my ignore-list...

Damn...I prefer Opera!

I HAD Firefox.

At this point, I'd prolly only actually x out one poster, and I don't think it's worth changing browsers for that.
