I concur, let's aim higher folks, get over the minimum, and check those categories. Smile Jerry's list pretty much shows where we are lacking. Keep 'em coming!

Aaack, I didn't realize the book and the contest are two different things, or are they, oh, never mind, when I get home from work I'll reread the first part of the Topic.

Hi All!!

Osso- The book and the contest are linked,..the recipes collected are for the book, the best recipes in each of the book's categories win the bubbly! Very Happy

Safecracker- Thanks, you're a "recipe posting madman"! Laughing
Keep it up, but don't burn yourself out!

I've been working on layout and design, and I think I can break each chapter down into sub-categories (In the Appetizer category, for example, we could have subs like: Seasonal Favorites, Lighter Favorites,..etc.)

I think I've worked it out so that the cover will be a padded 3-ring binder, with laminated pages....I like this idea, you can add your own pages after, and the book stands up on its own for easy reading while cooking.

I'll keep y'all posted!

Hi safecracker,..

I'm looking to have the books in my possesion by November 1, we will set up ordering,..probably through paypal, check or money order.

I'm hoping to keep the cost between $9-$12, plus shipping.

Things will become a bit more clear, as we end the contest part, and do the final lay-out of the book.

I love Italian food.
Pasta Alfredo with Veggies
makes 4 servings

2 cups lite cream
2 cloves of garlic finely chopped
4oz. cream cheese
4oz parmesan cheese (fresh grated)
1 cup broccoli flouretts
1 cup green beans
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup diced tomatoes
you can use any veggies these are just my favorite
1 lb cooked pasta (any kind)

Saute with 2 tbsp butter all veggies for 8 minutes (but add tomatoes and mushrooms in last three minutes)
Set aside

add two tbsp butter to sauce pan then add garlic when butter is hot. turn heat down to medium
after garlic has cooked at medium heat for 2 minutes add lite cream
cook at medium for 5 minutes then add your cheeses. make sure you wisk your mixture well while it is cooking.
let simmer for 3 minutes until cheese is melted

in large bowl pour sauce over pasta add veggies to top and serve.
