<Meanwhile, back on planet Earth.....>

Fantastic first half performance from Arsenal. Hamburg goalkeeper sent off for bringing down Van Persie, Arsenal go up !1 - 0 after the ensuing penalty(Silva)

MARVELLOUS!

Shorly after the second half resumed, Rosicky thundered one into the net, making it 2 - 0, with what could be the best goal of the entire tournament.

Hamburg team looking very tired.

FINAL SCORE.

Arsenal 2 - 1 Hamburg, after an extra time goal by Sanogo.

Apart from the last minute panic (as usual), it was a bit of a training ground exercise, really.

Arsenal looking pretty good though, even without Henry.

Looks like Man U had a bit of a close shave, beating Celtic 3 - 2!

Just tuning into the highlights.......

Celtic had a close shave mate.

It could have been 8-0 but it would have ruined the return match.

smorgsy said something about a close shave. Something to do with a well manicured lawn.

Personally I prefer wild tangled undergrowth and weeds. But only marginally.

Like Mathos says-I'm a bit of an oik.

He must not have spotted this thread yet. Which is probably a good thing.

Let mathos come...

This thread is for everyone - should I PM him and tell him what he's missing?

I'm tired, but I can't sleep.

Wish someone else was up...

Well, I blame it on those blue pills myself.

Hang on? Something's stirring again!

<Ellpus quickly reaches for the Times, hurriedly flicks through to the accountancy section, in order to take his mind off trouser region>

Ah, let's see now, article on V.A.T., that'll do........

Whoah the games people play now
Every night and every day now
Never meaning what they say now
Never saying what they mean

While they while away the hours
In their ivory towers
'Till they're covered up with flowers
In the back of a black limousine

Was that Joe South?

Just got up with it in my head...
