A man was trying to burglarize a Long Island home when he accidentally shot his accomplice
in the neck, killing him, police said.
Suffolk County authorities charged Anton Reid, 21, of Brentwood, with manslaughter
on Friday, more than three months after the shooting in Bellport.
Police said the victim Anthony Jenkins, 35, bled to death after the shooting on May 15.
Investigators said the pair were burglarizing a home and Reid had pulled a gun on one of its residents,
when he somehow wound up firing at Jenkins by mistake.
Reid was arrested Thursday.
If all robbers n burglars were this co-operative,
we might not need personal defensive guns.
