Reyn's Day
Up in the mornin and a2k
The threads are waitin from z to a
Hit the Yahoo page peruse the news
You study em all you're weighing the clues
Workin your fingers right down to the bone
And the guy named edgarblythe won't leave you alone
A few of them ring a bell
You click and save you're ready to tell
You're hoping the folks take time to read
You're fortunate if they will click and see
Back in the forum, open a thread
Paste about a guy who's wife and cat are dead
Then where a woman walks too slow
The cop gave her a ticket to go
Close up your PC, get out of your seat
Down the halls and into the street
Up to the corner and round the bend
With camera at the juke joint, you go in
Look all around to take a shot
You gotta get somethin thats really hot
With the lense uncovered, you're clicking away
All thwe subjects are wantin to play,
Feeling so groovy from head to toe
Round and round and round you go
Hail, hail retirement
Deliver me from a back that's bent
Long live retirement
The labor and toil done came and went
Rock, rock, rock and roll
The feelin is there, body and soul.
( taken from School Day by Chuck Berry)

Good one, edgar!
(Reyn's such a busy bee, isn't he?)

Jespah, God I love Huey Lewis, this is wonderful.
Edgar, will you run away with me? Love what you did with Chuck Berry's tune.
Thanks, glitterbag. Here is a take off on the Big Bopper's Running Bear (recorded by Johnny Preston)
By a stream in Arizona
Stood Dyslexic Dude
Old cowboy guy
On the other side of the water
Stood the apple of his eye
Gone Bad Nun was her name
Such a lovely sight to see
Bumblebeeboogie came to greet them
And they greeted Bumblebee
Dyslexic Dude loved Gone Bad Nun
With a love big as the sky
Dyslexic Dude loved Gone Bad Nun
With a love that couldn't die
He couldn't swim the raging river
'Cause the river was too wide
He couldn't reach Gone Bad Nun
Waiting on the other side
In the moonlight he could see her
Throwing kisses 'cross the waves
Her little heart was beating faster
Waiting for her cowboy brave
Dyslexic Dude loved Gone Bad Nun
With a love big as the sky
Dyslexic Dude loved Gone Bad Nun
With a love that couldn't die
Dyslexic Dude got a rowboat
Gone Bad Nun saw it float
And he rowd out to reach her
Through the swirling stream he came
As their hands touched she stepped in the boat
She climbed in and sat her down
Now they're always together
Rowing the boat around
Dyslexic Dude loved Gone Bad Nun
With a love big as the sky
Dyslexic Dude loved Gone Bad Nun
With a love that couldn't die
Pretty good? Pretty good???? it's freaking genius.
Yeah, right on Snood <nods>
Apologies to Don Henley, and Dirty Laundry
I spend some free time here on A2K,
Used to post on SB, but it's in a state of decay
SB folks want you confused, they love murky logic
Well I used to be a writer, but wound up here
Try avoiding SB because it's gotten so queer
People there can't think so clear, they like lots of drama
Kick em when their right, Kick em when their clear
Kick em when their right, Stick your fingers in your ears
Got the same 6 posters, the gang of six
Any other poster draws them there in a click
It's dangerous to hear other views, they need loads of drama
Wanna post an idea, that's not a good thought
The Gang of 6 is ready and cocked
Expression is a scary thought
Give them lots of drama
Refrain
They don't really have to know what's going on,
Independent thinking they eas sure it's wrong
Wrap your flag real tight because, they need lots of drama
Swiss cheese little secrets, Swiss cheese little lies
They stick their dumb-butt finger in everybody's pies
Try to cut you down to their size, they need lots of drama
They're great at obfuscation, they can spin and weave
But once it's said and done they haven't cleared up a thing
They know apple pie is king, they crave lots of drama
refrain (goes on for about 5 minutes with great guitar riffs)
glitterbag, I know whereoff you speak.
Well it may not have been clever but it was a lot of fun to write.
Don't sell yourself short. Let those you wrote about do it.
Any minute now......but it will probably show up on one of the threads devoted to me somewhere else....Watta ya gonna do. I didn't mention any names, so who would take offense?
I'm mulling over some early tunes by Randy Newman, think anybody remembers the stuff he did in the day? Not really top-forty stuff, just very clever and he always makes me laugh.

I don't know how that happened. We have a lot of wind and rain from Ernesto and all day I have had trouble getting updates. I see the email but can't click on the link.....have to go to the site and even then I'm sure if I'm seeing everything.
Yeah, Short People, Rednecks, Every man a king, Birmingham, Baltimore, Naked Man.....I love his early stuff.
Now believe me when I tell you that my posts are really true
I want everyone to read them and believe
It's about some important facts I happen to know
And all the things against the liberals, who blow
Early in the morning I always get to work
Chasing down posts, reams of pasting to do
Oh I still remember the times of Abuzz and will recapture them here
Feeding all the a2kers at Massagatto's Cafe!
Whizzing & pasting & pooting through the day . . .
(Ronnie helping GW helping burn his poots away!)
And all the while on a shelf in the shed:
MASSY'S LITTLE CREATURES ON DISPLAY!
Bushie saves his numies on a window in his room
(A marvel to be seen: dysentery green)
While Cheney & his buddies had a game out in the back:
LET'S MAKE THE WATER TURN BLACK
We see them in the crevasses in a world of their own
(To some it might seem creepy what they do . . . )
The neighbors on the left sat & watched them every night
(I bet you'd do the same if they was you)
Whizzing & pasting & pooting through the day . . .
(Cheney helping Bushie helping burn his poots away!)
And all the while on a shelf in the shed:
MASSY'S LITTLE CREATURES ON DISPLAY!
Massey's in a make believe Army now & Bushie's taking pills
Oh! How they yearn to see a bomber burn!
Color flashing, thunder crashing, dynamite machine!
(Wait till the fire turns green . . . wait till the fire turns
green)
WAIT TILL THE FIRE TURNS GREEN!
This would be a little bit of vocal teen-age heaven, right here
on Earth!
