A P.S.
,,,,,,,,I never did get the hang of cheating on a test!

....not that I am saying the people who are proudly touting their GEEKDOM. did such a nefarious action...

......nor that they are not Geeks <Since, I am told it is a good thing>

........I think I better disassemble my computer and find out why it has a geek prejudice...Will that be like looking for its soul? An exercise in futility?
(Trying to boost my score....Is this graded on the Curve?....I may still have hope then)

Fatima --

Lightwizard?

I seem to resemble at least two different people on these message boards, for some reason. Sofia called me littlek in one thread, and now I'm lightwizard. It must be the little and magical fairy avatar...

:wink:

The test is quite long, 507 questions, but takes less than 10 minutes.

I got 54% Super Geek, but I think it's quite flawed as I'm highly desired by females wherever I go. Perhaps it's the pecs.

Other rationale:

1) I bet the guy never developed any heuristics for the test, so it's highly skewed towards his own preconceptions.

2) I would expect older people to score significanly higher as they experience more in life. Young larvae are at a disadvantage.

3) As time goes on the diversity and depth of geeks would only increase, thereby reducing the accuracy of such a single-minded test.

4) Also, the author lives in Cincinatti -- not exactly Geek Central.

5) BTW, if you're curious about the scoring ranges:
Descriptor = '% - Poser';
if (Percentile > 9) {Descriptor = '% - Geekish Tendencies'};
if (Percentile > 15) {Descriptor = '% - Geek'};
if (Percentile > 25) {Descriptor = '% - Total Geek'};
if (Percentile > 35) {Descriptor = '% - Major Geek'};
if (Percentile > 45) {Descriptor = '% - Super Geek'};
if (Percentile > 55) {Descriptor = '% - Extreme Geek'};
if (Percentile > 65) {Descriptor = '% - Geek God'};
if (Percentile > 75) {Descriptor = '% - Dysfunctional Geek'};
if (Percentile == 100) {Descriptor = '% - Liar!'};

I bet the distribution peaks at around 15-25, so the test seems designed to discriminate between the extremely geeky, making it irrelevant to most of us.

I certainly wouldn't base any important decisions on such a frivolous test!

Yeah, it was kinda weird to me what seemed to count a lot and what didn't. Personally, I think I'm a huge geek, but there was nothing about areas where I'm really geeky -- owning Steve Martin albums, fer instance, or talking to somebody who could really care less about allosteric binding in Target for five minutes...

How many points would I have scored if I confessed to having a picture of me with Patrick Stewart's wax replica on my dresser? (It's from a visit to Madame Tussaud's.) It's fooled a few people, as in: "Wow, when did you meet Patrick Stewart?" Only in my dreams. :wink:

Your Patrick Stewart, Mac is a Shakesperian actor as well, so that should hike up you points tally.
