Help:
Problem I find with God is that:
>2/3 of Humans now don't believe in God [and will go to Hell???!!!].
https://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/xx.html
1/3 of Angels rebelled from God.
And some describe Him as a divine Ogre..."why God, in His foreknowledge of all the temporal and eternal suffering of humans, which He would have known before the beginning of time, went ahead anyway with the plan
we were set up for failure to begin with. Not only did God decide to consign the majority to un-ending suffering,
, God also stacked the deck against us, so that we would be forced to kiss up to Him to avoid this horrible consequence"

Does anyone have access to a better argument against the divine Ogre ideology?

We debated hell here, saying that hell was a real place or that hell wasnt real but just bad translations in the bible, you should check that out. My possition is that christianity has no hell but after you die you just die, im still studing my position on heaven.
I dont have anything to combat the ogre metaphor but i have a better one. I took this from a friend. The world is like (for lack of a better word) gods sex fantasy. God wants us to want him but he plays hard to get, when we give up trying to catch up with him he punishes us. He loves worship b/c it like us telling him he is so powerful and beautiful. Prayer is just begging. Churches are just huge group of pleading and begging.Whcih god likes.....Thats my metaphor.
And Welcolm To Able 2 Know!
Welcome to the forum, Pork. You make a number of unsupported propositions.
Where did you get the idea:
That 2/3 of humans don't believe in God?
That hell is a consequence of said disbelief?
That some part of us survives death so that suffering/reward would be eternal?
That 1/3 of angels rebelled from God?
That God's ability of foreknowledge is not subject to his free will?

None of this stuff is supported by the bible, most just by "Widely Believed Fact", which mean many ppl believe so it has to be true.

OK, so by your reasoning, a few hundred years ago when folks thought the world was flat, they must have been right.
That leads us to the question of when the earth got rounded off.
Thats exactly what im saying, just b/c everyone believes something doesnt make it true.
Pork! You hear that? Pork?!

Wear and tear from the global flood, obviously.
Your first statement -- the one about 2/3 of the people don't believe in god and are going to hell -- you labeled a problem with god. That has nothing to do with god.
Frankly, hell is a rather late invention in the history of religion and I have always believed it is a distortion based on the eastern concept of re-incarnation.

Sorry: clarification: "Christian/ Catholic= 33.03%"
You dont have to be a Christian/Catholic to believe in god.....
Really, you need to read your text more closely.
Christians 33.03% (of which Roman Catholics 17.33%, Protestants 5.8%, Orthodox 3.42%, Anglicans 1.23%), Muslims 20.12%, Hindus 13.34%, Buddhists 5.89%, Sikhs 0.39%, Jews 0.23%, other religions 12.61%, non-religious 12.03%, atheists 2.36% (2004 est.)
how is your saying "Chistian/Catholic 33.03%" a clarification?
Get it together pork.

So, only "Christian/Catholic" people, whatever that means, believe in god?
um no God isnt an ogre
The bible is clear from the beginning that God is Sovereign. In saying that, it was through God's foreknowledge that he knew we would need a Savior. He sent his son Jesus to die willingly for us. Doesn't sound to ogreish to me. The bible is also clear that God gives us ample opportunity to get saved. If people reject him its their own fault.
Quote:For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. john 3:16-18
Yer goddamned right . . . an' anyone who don't know is a filthy commie and will burn in hell for eternity . . .
i dont think being a commie has anything to do with it .......
Sure it do . . . ain't you never heard a godless commies ? ! ? ! ?
