Thank you, I'll check it out. But I have done a good deal of reading on this already.

Arising from Foofie's comment, it may be of interest to point out that when the mass emigration of jews from northern europe was taking place in the late 19th century, many took the sea route from the Baltic and north German ports to seaports in the north-east of England, travelled accross the country heading for Liverpool in the west, and set out for America from there.

Many of those, maybe for a variety of reasons, decided not to leave and settled here. It's nice here, after all. According to my pal, whose great-grandparents did this, some even believed that had reached America when they got here. They became busy in a lot of textile trades principally, cottons, woollens, tailoring, all sorts of things.

Anyway Foofie, for goodness sake. The Rothschilds, whose bank helped Napoleon, were busy here in London. Disraeli, heard of him? Think of your Shakespeare.... jews have been here for ever. Woolfson was a great benefactor in Glasgow and elsewhere. Even Andre Previn was here for years.

Somewhere I have read that Jews were kicked out of England twice in modern history. So, they came back, apparently. That might only mean that other countries on the continent were worse. I have heard of no immigration of Jews from the U.S. to England. Must be that the U.S. is cut from a different cloth, so to speak, than Europe.

There's a quantity of Israeli agricultural produce on sale here labelled "Produce of the West Bank", the assumption being it's grown on disputed (Palestinian) land and irrigated with stolen water, so there is a move afoot to have its import banned.

How can water be stolen. What if it was grown in Arab villages? Sounds like biting one's nose to spite one's face.

You are not comparing equals. Europe was obsessed with its Jewish population, way before Hitler. Now some Europeans are quite concerned about Muslims in Europe. My point is that the U.S. is not perfect, but better at diversity than many European populations. Note the concern about Muslim women's head coverings in France. No such concern in the U.S.

The U.S. is better at inclusiveness, while Europe, in my opinion, has been very good at exclusiveness. Note the diversity in the U.S. armed forces.

@Foofie,
The person who's obsessed with Jews on these threads is you!

Quit making an ass of yourself. You're always the victim and the smartest on this planet; we are now aware of all that from your postings.

@cicerone imposter,
Why do you not stay on topic? You seem to have become involved with my personality? This is a thread based on different opinions that should be backed up by facts. Your concern about my personality may be also wasting the time of other posters on the thread, by making the thread an arena for judging me.

But, if you want to entertain us, you can do a summer rerun of telling us all about your personal world, as you have done in the past (family, career, travel itinerary).

Not living on the west coast, I have never met anyone like you before. You might be quite unique for the world I inhabit.

The only thing I am curious about you is your physical height.

@Foofie,
What and how you post on a2k "is" your personality.

My height is immaterial to my personality on a2k; I had no "control" over how tall I wish I wanted to be; that goes for my race/ethnicity.

My only point being that we are all humans; no one race has contributed any more or less than the human race. If you want to feel superior, do it elsewhere if you don't appreciate my challenges.

I hate people who think they're superior to anybody else.

Then you might be consumed with hate, since many people realize that they are superior to some others. I never said though anything about my feeling superior. I was talking about superior cultures. You have extrapolated that to mean I feel superior. To some people yes. To some people I feel inferior. To you I feel nothing, since you are not part of the world I inhabit.

@Foofie,
You talk about "superior cultures" in the same paragraph as Jews. Yeah, you know how to "hide" your superiority.

On second thought, I might be superior to you in a few ways. One of them, I believe, is my ability to not care about who thinks they are superior to me, or anyone else. But, I am amused at your emotional feelings about others' possible feelings of superiority. I do not have such emotional feelings. I accept that there are superior people and inferior people, relating to certain traits. I call it being realistic.

Perhaps, there are people today that would like everyone to be "equal." That is a product, I believe, of our progressive socialization. We were lied to, I believe.

That is laughable in the extreme. Ask the gay population about how diverse the military is.

@Foofie,
As a hint to your personal belief of superiority, read JTT's post below yours. Of coarse, you wouldn't understand the meaning of it, because of its simplicity.

I don't give a crap if you feel superior to me; that's a given. It's when you think you and your kind are superior to everybody else.

@cicerone imposter,
If you expect me to try to prove that the government of israel isent stealing palistianian land and water you better think again. My post was in referance to the fact that you are against the government of Israel as advocate pointed out. You use facts for your arguemants, Advocate uses emotion. But as I pointed out you are complete opposites of each other. I have quit posting to advocate on this issue because his mind is closed on this particular subject.

Your post is a total lie. Without your feeling of superiority, you wouldn't have to mention all the accomplishments by Jews as you have done on this thread.

@rabel22,
I misinterpreted your post, so you'll have to forgive me for that! I agree that Advocate and I are on apposite poles on matters of Israel.

It gnaws me when Jews and pro-Israel apologists say I'm anti-Semitic. They just don't know what they are talking about.

My first job after college was with Florsheim Shoe Company; they gave me the opportunity to be the first Asian to be in their management ranks after 3.5 years as a field auditor. I've had several Jewish bosses during my short working career, and they treated me with respect. In all the years since then, I have met many Jews I call friend. The most recent one being Bob Brodsky, a retired scientist (who worked on nukes and rockets) and college professor who has written several books. I'm reading one now when he contacted me after it was recently published.

I also need to add that my siblings politics and religion isn't mine; we often have disagreements and arguments. Doesn't mean I don't love them.

I have friends all over the word, and it's not based on any culture, religion, race or creed. Our family is made up of many different cultures, and I'm proud of that fact.

CI, I noticed that there is no denial from you on my belief that you do not recognize Israel as a bona fide state. You also do not deny that you previously stated that Israel killed hundreds of thousands of Pals (a lie). Your usual retort is to merely ask for a copy of your posts.

@rabel22,
I could care less that you no longer post to me. It is a lie that I fail to provide facts. In fact, I often provide backup articles, links, etc.

I find that you are very ignorant and love to lie and are blindly anti-Israel.

Show me where I've said "Israel killed hundreds of thousands" of _____.

You won't be able to produce such nonsense, because I have never claimed such. Is this an example of your claim that you show "evidence?"
