P.S., Msolga:
I HAVE had it happen
that a person ( possibly crazed )
shot at me on the road,
shooting out my driver 's side window,
on the way home from my girlfriend 's house.
I discovered that Winston Churchill was right
that there is some humor in
being shot at without effect.

Look, I think we're on different planets, David. Never the twain shall meet & all that .... Our laws are different. Where I live the only folk who carry guns around in the streets are police (legally) & criminals (illegally). Let's just say that I prefer our law & our attitudes to yours on this one. It feels a lot, lot safer to me.
Yep, letting only the police and criminals arm themselves while allowing everyone else to be caught in the middle, and then writing up even more gun control laws when innocent citizens are caught in the crossfire, is just stupid.
If you cannot have a weapon in your home, why would an armed criminal be afraid of coming on in for a visit?
Makes absolutely no sense, as all gun control laws don't.

That's the reason why outside the USA we have only armed robberies while inside the USA there are none at all?
Knowing David's attitude, his driving may have prompted the shooting out the window.

Uh, I ain't following your reasoning....
A bad guy is a bad guy. If someone is in your house that you don't want to be there, and all you have is a steak knife, well, I wish you luck.

Yeah,
especially since the bad guy has had
as much time as he chose
to arm himself exactly as he desired to.

How about if he has a bozooka?
I doubt he's gonna bother to come in your house if he has a bazooka. That could be dangerous (the roof might collapse).
Mebbe so, but the whole notion of creating a world view around what to do in the event of a home-invasion robbery seems fantastic to begin with. Why not push the envelope?
It's not fantastic to them. They think its perfectly normal to talk and think about firearms a lot.
True. Realism is a relative concept, I guess.

The same reason every ******* bitch is asking stupid questions. It happens.

Unfortunately, your voice of reason is being lost in the wind. I wonder if one has to prove sanity prior to purchasing a handgun?

Do those homes with weapons post a sign so that the robber will identify a armed household? Do the robbers assume that every household is armed? If so, why are there so many break-ins. Not every robber carries a gun.
You are right. Why would anyone want to get into a crossfire with the police and the crooks when they can join in and be firing away at whatever moves?
