That is retarded and simply proves how lame you are. Some asswipe is in your house stealing your stuff and threatening you, and what do you do, say "take whatever you want, even my wife and daughter, sil vous plais".

What kind of p---y are you?

Lemme guess. French.

The comment is not what is retarded. You seem to advocate vigilante justice.

Anybody with an ounce of sense would not say anything to the burglar. They would be calling the Police from another room. You do know what the Police are for, don't you?

No, I am not French. Why do you suggest that? Do you have something against the French? Should they be shot?

I would stay and have a battle of wits with you, but you are, apparently, unarmed.

IMO, If you need a 50 cal to defend your house you probably think you need a billy club in a fistfight.

What does "need" have to do with anything?

If I knew I was going to be in a fistfight, I'd bring a shotgun.

Yep, but you are undoubtedly an urban dweller. Cops aren't very available in MOST places. Sorry Int, but the battle of wits was lost on your part long ago.

Even in urban environments with lots of cops, I'd rather be a vigilante than a statistic.

I always carry around a lightning rod because I never know when a sudden thunderstorm might come up.

Better to be safe than sorry.. You can't trust the weatherman to be there when you need him.

"If I know I'm going to be in a fistfight, I'm bringing a shotgun."

priceless.

"What does need have to do with anything?"

another gem.

And here I'm thinking need had everything to do with what kind of gun one would own, and that someone going to a fistfight brings his fists.

Not the American way, I s'pose. Yee-haw.

Howo you know that Oralroy's not handicapped? A vet missing an arm or two?

I've been severely criticized here for associating myself with Ted Nugent. At least he has a clue.

The foolish remarks about depending upon calling the police
from another room, and betting your family 's life upon their swift arrival
reminds me of the misadventures of the Carpenter family of Merced, California
a few years ago.
They had several children aged from 7 to 14,
who had become good shots, with practice.

Their parents left home one day, after having locked up their guns.
Regretably, they neglected to leave the keys within ez reach of the children,
or to have practiced gun drills, to get their guns out fast, in an emergency.

A demented criminal, Jonathon David Bruce, cut their fone lines,
armed himself with an unlicensed pitchfork and broke in.
The children tried to get at their defensive guns,
but were defeated by the locks, thereby protecting the safety
and well-being of Mr. Bruce, who fatally punctured some of the children.

One of the survivors ran to a neighbor 's home asking him to take care
of the criminal, with his gun, but he refused, calling the police.

When they arrived, Mr. Bruce charged them with his unlicensed pitchfork.
For some reason, the police did not have THEIR guns locked.
They blasted the hell out of him, thereby ending the saga of Mr. Bruce
and his misuse of agricultural instruments.

In my opinion, those parents shud have been prosecuted
for criminally negligent homicide, in that they prevented
their children from defending their lives, resulting in the deaths of some of them.

Should your life depend on other people who are not around ?
I don 't think so.

Yeah.
Its a Bill of RIGHTS, not a bill of needs.

I don 't NEED to vote for a candidate running for election to a schoolboard,
but I have a legal right to do so.

He needs a better government;
one that is not in bed with the criminals,

I have no interest in engaging in combat with anyone, or determining who the better street fighter is by engaging in fisticuffs.

If someone is going to insist on assaulting me, and cannot be deterred, I'd prefer to fill their skull with buckshot and get on with my day.

(Man, that's a detour)If he has one arm or is in a wheelchair, that's not what he was referring to when he said he'd bring a shotgun to a fistfight, or at least, there was no way of telling it.

I guess we have to assume everyone has all their limbs until they tell us differently.

My arms and legs work OK. But I'm not into martial arts, and am probably a bit out of shape. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who could defeat me in bare-handed combat.

If someone does insist on attacking me, I see no reason not to use a tool to fight them.

I believe that is the human way of doing things. Other animals (say, tigers) evolved to be top predators by developing superior physical strength. Humans evolved to be top predators, not by developing strength equal to that of a tiger, but by developing intelligence and creating tools that they could use to attack other living things.

Perhaps the anti-gun people would have preferred we had evolved tiger-like strength instead of human-like intelligence. (Or perhaps they'd rather be prey.)

Nugent is cool. I used to go to his concerts around the holidays when I was younger.

Here's another stray thought on firearms for the beneit of libs and anti-gunners and what not.

The term "assault rifle" or "assault weapon" is generally meant to be anything which appars frightening to a demokkkrat these days, usually something like this:

http://nas4.atlanta.gbhinc.com/GB/052603000/52603764/pix2811022156.jpg

which might be fine for dealing with two or three viet cong if you could find them. There are any number of reasons in real life not to be walking around in the woods with a 223 caliber rifle, for instance:

http://www.chaffeezoo.org/images/grizzly-bear.gif

That guy would eat the M16 along with its owner, along with any demokkkrats who might be standing around acting scared in the bargain. My brother in fact tells me that the very worst he ever saw anybody get messed up in Nam was a guy who had an M16 in his hand when he encountered a wild boar.

Now, if you're SERIOUS about wanting to be able to strike real fear into whatever else might be in the woods, this would be a far better choice:

http://nas4.atlanta.gbhinc.com/GB/052766000/52766608/pix3047889593.jpg

That is basically America's most lethal gun, your basic Marlin lever action rifle chambered for 45/70 ammunition. It'll put the bear, or anything else which walks the Earth down pretty much where he stands, and it's accurate enough to kill mice at 100 meters if you ever need it to do that. Most demokkkrats probably wouldn't even recognize it as a firearm.

The 45/70 is an ancient cartridge, one of three or four holdovers from the age of black powder cartridges which prevailed for a few decades between the civil war era and the age of modern smokeless powder. Cartridges loaded for the Marlin rifles use smokeless powder.

But on the real side, gungasnake, just between me and you...

You don't really think all Democrats hate guns or gun ownership, or that they want to take your guns, or that none of the Democrats know anything about guns, do you?

I mean, that "DemoKKKrat" stuff is just something you use to make a point about what you believe, right?

Because, seriously, between you and me...

Anyone who really believes that cartoonish exaggerated stuff about all Democrats would have to be about the biggest nutcase or simpleton who ever walked the earth.

So, c'mon (I won't tell anybody, and your secret will be safe with me) ...
You really do know that there are Democrats who own guns, shoot guns and know about guns, right? You know that, right?
