Ha! one of my dogwalk pals did this. She ended up with two Brazilian valley girls. Great for the neighbourhood fellas to admire. Not so much for Peggy's language skills aspirations.
eh beth. I have hosted and been involved with exchange students for the past two years.
I have had not one poor experience. these are just kids after all. I fact the Brazillians I have had an association with were probably the most fun.
Your experience is third hand. I dont think I have ever heard of a poor exchange student...........only poor host parents. (and host parents friends).
Only immersion will give a real result in a short time but you can pick up some handy words and pronunciation. a basic framework to build on.
