I didn't say non-celebs cannot champion a cause. Just that celebs drum up the support by their high profile. A ordinary person would have to do something drastic to get into the evening news while celebs being forever in the media focus seems to be just the right vehicle. There is always a reaction or resistance to any cause for it incurs extra costs, inconvenience or the livelihood of those affected. Seal hunts have been done in eastern Canada for ages and affects the livelihood of some of those affected. I guess Paul couldn't take the angry reponse from those Canadians. Pam Anderson being Canadian didn't get that bad a reaction. Brigitte Bardot, they just ignored her.
