Ann Coulter Attacks 9/11 Widows

The largest demography for "Brokeback Mountain" was straight women between the ages of 25 and 55 -- the movie would not have made it so big at the box office purely on gay attendance. Many of them coaxed their husbands or boyfriends to go and there are many news articles with the response of the hetero males as thumbs up on the movie. So it's not required that you are wating [sic] time on the movie -- it was well received critically, won more awards than any other movie that year and on a $42M cost made a bundle of dough, setting the executives at the big studios back to the boardroom to discuss what they are doing wrong. Well, duh.

I've read four of Ms. (!!!) Coulter's books and I have to admit that I guess I have a masochistic streak, 'cause I've also caught her on all her Bill Maher appearances (no choice, I like watching Bill and he's coming back to HBO on the 25th), her apperances on many other TV shows (including the grilling Matt Lauer gave her on the Today Show) That still outnumbers what Mr. Tico has read. So I will still criticize those who haven't seen movies they haven't even seen. They are slaves to the conservative peers. If you had really read what I've stated about Michael Moore in other discussions on this forum, you'd know he would not want me as a supporter even if I still support the majority of his projects as a buffer against the radical right. Hypocrites usually use the tactic of accusing others of being hypocrites.

Not only that but he still has Ahnold as his avatar while Ahnold, obviously to gain politically and with some influence of his wife, is gradually turning into a raging liberal. You don't follow California politics too closely I guess.

Thanks for the clue-in about when Maher is coming back. I can't stand his standup - too cynical for me, but I love the show for how topical the discussions are.

I usually don't disagree with you, Ticomaya, but now I must.

Waste time on Brokeback Mountain? You read about the millions of straight women who attended. Don't you keep up on things? I would have gone to see it a second time but I was really disappointed with its lack of connection with reality. I was expecting at least one scene( even if done in semi-darkness) of real "fisting". I guess the actors didn't have it in them!!!!

Yes, he goes past scepticism into a kind of cynicism which often isn't that funny -- his last HBO special was entertaining but in places as mean-spirited as Coulter. No wonder he was always inviting her as a guest on his old show. Well, except for the strong rumor in Hollywood that he was doing her -- Bill, for shame.

As there was only one mild sex scene in "Brokeback," and all the other were implied, how does anyone know exactly what kind of sex they were having? Some here have Dubya's fist up there ass, moving their mouth like a puppet.

The is deja vu as we've been over this material before with you Tico. Please come up with something original about Coulter besides you checked out two of her endless dirge of tombs [sic] and your wife actually bought one (from the close-out shelf in paperback at Barnes & Noble no doubt).

It must really be eating at you that her latest book debuted at #1 on the New York Times bestseller list for nonfiction.

(BTW: You did not use [sic] properly in that sentence above. .... FYI. )

That's probably because her wingnut fans wouldn't have bought and read it if they knew the truth; that she and her book are full of ****.

Non-fiction? Unbelievable...

It's pro-friction, not non-fiction.

Are there any documentaries based on her books coming out? No. Not one smart studio would put up the money for such a bad investment. The only movies right wingnuts go to are those of the calibre of "The Fog." That's because that is what they are in -- a fog.

What Light Wizard does not know is that the lack of a good "fisting" sequence is what doomed "The Night Listener" to the garbage can.

HOW BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...and you haven't seen it. Roeper gave it thumbs up but I find myself disagreeing with him more often than Ebert, who wasn't there this Sunday but replaced by none other than Kevin James, who also gave it thumbs up.

However, Rex Reed (not to be confused with our RexRed), possibly the gayest of the gay reviewers did not like the film:

Rex Reed review of "The Night Listener"

I didn't really get much out of the novel either.

Why was the film so low key? There wasn't one good sex scene in it? I was waiting for Robin Williams to wipe his mouth a few times!!!

There wasn't one good sex scene in it? [sic]

Posed as a question, that indicates you haven't seen it. How old are you? Twelve?

Tico, your comment about the film comes across as homophobic. I can't imagine any homophobes wasting their time seeing the film.

Seems as though the conservative's comments on "Brokeback Mountain" are not only homophobic in nature, but seem to perhaps demonstrate their own latent homosexuality, as their wish for "fisting" has been clearly expressed.

Whatever the case, it's obvious this kind of homophobia plays right into the purging of qualified gay Arab linguists to fight the war on terror. And shills like Ann Coulter will do anything to justify this unbelievable bullshit.

And so, the absurdity and lunacy of these homophobic comments becomes that much more obvious. And the delusional fantasies of many conservatives who's hypocrisy reigns supreme is extremely blatant.

In other words, they are quite full of it.

Purging of gay Arab linguists? There are NO gay Arab linguists. The Arab linguists in the Arab countries have all met with horrible fates. They have all been castrated. That alone should redouble our efforts to defeat the enemy in the Middle East!!!

"It's really just a campaign for gay rights in the Middle East."

Interesting opinion from the Republican base...
