Chum-

Great anger driven post but

refusal to support quality birth control

is a bit of a mistake. Quality is a well known concept subject to subjectivity.

Do any of you remember being taught about sex and get all hot and bothered?

I never had sex-ed in grade school, but I learned about sex, when I was in the 4th grade, and was playing baseball in the streets.
I was so innocent, I had no idea we were talking about sex. Thus I wasn't "hot" and I surely wasn't "bothered".

I remember the dirty, greasy little girl too, who was our"Sex Educator".

That's it, that's all you wish to say? I'm shocked. I reserved 5 minutes of my life in the magnificent expectation of a sizable retort, and I get this little mouse dropping!

I'm of the opinion that our 4th grade SEX EDUCATOR had a hormonal problem. Whoever heard of a 10 year old little girl with a beard?

That's okay. I don't want just any bloke for my daughter, I want someone
who has enough experience to appreciate her.

It has been brought to my attention that the majority of abortions performed in western europe/north america are for ladies who practice abstinence only. Since bc is out of the question their only alternative is abortion. It has also been pointed out to me that practioners of abstinence only more often than not get married for the sole reason of having legitimate sex, which results in higher than average divorce rates.

Chumly, unfortunately these vows to virginity until marriage are
enforced by parents who don't realize how much pressure they're
offspring is under to keep such a promise. And for what? To please
and support the utter ignorance of their parents religious views.

I've seen that with a former neighbor whose teenage daughter was
sent to such a retreat and came back with a "virginity bracelet" that
is usually worn until marriage. Such bracelet should also be a
reminder to remain abstinent. That poor girl will never be able to
discuss her boyfriend, birth control, or any other related topic with
her mother/parents. Should she ever get pregnant out of wedlock
I only can imagine how desperate this girl would be. These are mostly
the girls who dump their newborns into garbage bins or abandon
them otherwise, because there is no one they can confide in.

CalamityJane,
Such a shame, giving up so much to gain a pocketful of empty promises, I'm glad your kid will know the truth.

If you teach your daughter to disqualify someone based on sexual inexperience, then you're probably not gonna like who she gets.

There appears to be a direct correlation between sexual ignorance and likablity in your eyes, but clearly not in either Jane's nor mine.
If you admire incompetent, guilt ridden, naïve, ignorant boobs in bed, that's great for you........I guess.

You tried the same tact (to no net effect) prior with one of William Shatner's posts. The nugatory literalism argument is overtly weak.

Yes it is. Horrifying indeed.

Abortion is often injurious and occasionally fatal to the mother. Legalizing it hasn't eliminated that either.

I'll wager many abortion supporters on this forum haven't the guts nor the intellectual honesty to click all of these links and read the stories in their entirety.

And there are many more. These stories are easy to find.

Are you seriously positing the argument that there is no substantial difference in the number of women who end up dead or seriously ill through botched operations when abortion is legal and practiced in bona fide hospitals and clinics, or when they are done secretly in back alleys?

Schools are required to get parental consent before administering aspirin for a headache, but not for referring a girl to an abortionist.

Yeah, "bona fide clinics" that often are subject to fewer regulations than the booth that pierces kids ears at the mall.

Abortionist accused of eating fetuses

Quote:
With Rajanna's case pending, abortion opponents won legislative approval of a bill requiring abortion clinics to obtain an annual license from the Department of Health and Environment, hire surgeons as their medical directors and report patient deaths to the state within a day. The measure also mandated that the department set standards for equipment, medical screenings, ventilation and lighting.

But Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, an abortion-rights advocate, vetoed the measure.....

Quote:
The Cincinnati Enquirer reported on January 11, 2003 that a federal judge ruled that a Dayton, Ohio abortion facility can remain open. The facility is not properly licensed by the Ohio Department of Health. The state health department attempted to close the Women's Med Center of Dayton after the abortion business failed to obtain agreements from nearby hospitals promising to provide emergency medical care if needed following a botched abortion.

but the website of the Womens Med Center proudly proclaims:
http://www.womensmedcenter.com/abortioncare/default.asp

Quote:
.........Abortion is 5 to 10 times safer than childbirth.

It wasn't always that way. Until 1973 when abortion became legal in the United States, women felt desperate and alone. They often attempted unsafe measures to terminate the pregnancy themselves or they would find someone to perform an abortion. Usually, they were untrained practitioners (not always physicians) performing abortions in unsanitary facilities with primitive instruments. Thousands of women died every year or they suffered serious medical problems. The legalization of abortion has made abortion very safe, ensuring women they are treated by a licensed and trained physician in a clean medical facility meeting set standards and mandated guidelines and follow up care.....

http://www.cwfa.org/articles/1364/CWA/life/index.htm
Quote:
In February, WAFB, the CBS affiliate in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, aired a report on the unsanitary conditions of a local abortion clinic, Delta Women's Health Clinic. They showed pictures of rusty instruments and blood on floors and tables (Washington Post, 2/20/99). The dirty and unsafe conditions were appalling.

The double standard illustrated by abortion proponents on safety regulations is dangerous. They demand the right to abortion but do not want the best possible facilities for the procedure. If they assert that abortion is merely a medical procedure, it is necessary for abortion to be regulated as all other medical procedures. Even restaurants undergo safety and health inspections!Bruce Steir complained about having "nightmares about [his] loss of freedom" and having to endure 12 hours in a police van and 3 days in jail "was absolutely horrible." However, Sharon Hamptlon is dead.

Women are Still Exploited and Killed by Abortion
http://www.lovematters.com/unsafe.htm
Quote:
The following are actual documented cases of women killed or injured by abortion. It may be legal, but it's sure not safe. Each woman's case is documented in Mark Crutcher's book, Lime 5. Sources for these deaths and injuries include public records such as medical records, coroners' reports, court documents and other public documents. In this book alone, Crutcher documents more than 230 cases of women who died or were injured from their abortions.......

Many women who live through their abortions are severely injured. Here are just a few examples from the book, Lime 5.

"Hannah" (Age 19, Missouri)
Ruptured uterus and lacerated intestine.

"Jane" (Age 20, New York)
Cervix lacerated.

"Melissa" (Age 22, Indiana)
Hemorrhaging, punctured cervix and uterus. Required a hysterectomy.

"Susan" (Age 25, Arizona)
Preborn baby's bones and tissue left in vagina and uterus.

"Tamera" (North Dakota)
Emergency hysterectomy to stop hemorrhaging.

"Debra" (Illinois)
Intra-abdominal abscesses that required a colostomy.

"Latonya" (California)
Hepatitis B due to unsanitary abortion equipment.

"Bona fide clinics" in the wild wild west of abortionland.
