and....do you like it?

mine is Sophie, and for most of my life, made me think of Sophie Tucker, a blousy blonde.

Then a few years back, I saw all these Brits using it, for BABIES no less. I thought "How could they do that to a child!" but apparantly, it's quite all right.

Reminds me of Ethel Merman or Shelly Winters

Mine is Nickia

I have heard it has roots in Cherokee language...
I sort of doubt it

But it means 'beauty' or ' female ruler such as a Queen"

Anthony. My parents were torn, trying to decide if this would be my first name or my middle name. My father wanted it for first name, my mother for middle. She won.

I didn't, then when I got married moved my maiden name into the middle name slot.

Works great, so I guess I like it, though it's not any kind of standard middle name in the slightest.

And here I thought I was the only person on A2K who was never given a middle name by very stingy parents. Hello, Lord E. and CJ. We should start a club. (I sometimes use J as a middle initial. It just stands for John's son as John was my father's name.)

David. I am fine with it and it gives me that solid connection to the late Dave Van Ronk and other great Davids of the past, including my great-grandfather which is where the name came from.

My middle name is Ann but, like sozobe, I dropped it and moved my maiden name into it's place once I got married.

{waves at Merry Andrew} You always could use the "M" for Merry too Smile

My neighbor's first Name is Stuart, his middle name is something with "O"
and his last name starts with a "B" which makes his initials SOB. Ironically,
he gave the same initials to his oldest son.

My parents kept it simple...with my father's middle name: Lynn

I think back now, and they were going to use Victoria, pfft! I'm so proud they didn't...lol

Considering my first name is 9 letters
My maiden name was 8...
And my married name is of the 9 letter variety.......

One of my middles name(s) is Lynne AND I DON'T LIKE IT! (smorgs stamps her feet in a hissy fit)

No offence to other lynnes out there, but it's just so...so..boring!
would have preferred Pasionella, or je tame, or something posh like that.

Instead I got LYNNE which sounds like I work behind the deli counter in Tescos.

No offence to deli counter workers...
Or Tesco workers - not that you'd have computers

My other name is too horrific to reveal Twisted Evil

Well, whaddya know. My middle name is Lynn, too!

It's okay, but a bit too bland if you ask me. (Which my parents did not.)
