Beautiful pictures! Have you gone to Santa Fe as well?

Passed on this tour, went through some suburbian areas on Sunday last ... but actually couldn't stop due to heaviest rainfall.

I could use a shave and haircut, I guess. Nah. Definitely a nose-job.

Wandel, yes, Dys let Walter drive from Gallup to Albuquerque, at least most of the way. Getting off the highway and coping with on and off ramps was left to Dys. I also leave that part of the trip to Dys.

Walter, I have already picked a few of your photos that I want framed. They are exquisite.

It is too bad the weather was clear while you were driving through Ship Rock. When it is a little hazy, the rock formations look eerily like a fleet of sailing ships floating in the middle of the desert.

Dys, my sweet, don't change a thing. I love that broken nose and the weathered old cowboy face.

Socialist Westphalians. I tell ya, they're the most pious bunch you'll ever find this side of Joseph Ratzinger.

Wandel, never believe what a liberal Bavarian tells you!

(Better: never believe what a liberal and/or a Bavarian tells you.)

Walter,

Your photos are excellent. The New Mexico scenery is amazing. Your new camera is a very good one.

(Never mind the silly remarks I posted. I thought you were not paying attention.)

This view is similar as looking towards the Alps, if there wasn't the desert in front of the mountains ...

This close to the Alps in Bavaria, you would see a beer garden somewhere. Here you don't, even though it's much hotter and much dryer, so people should be in much more desparate need for a cold beer. You think there's a market niche here?

I believe, the Bagdad Cafe is near by - that's at least what Marianne
Saegebrecht said.

You mean, the Bagdad Cafe from Out of Rosenheim? I thought that was on the other side of the Rockies, even on the other side of the Sierra, somewhere between LA and Las Vegas. But you're right, the scenery is very similar.

The Bagdad Cafe is in Arizona about 50 miles west of Sedona.

Yeah, that's the one, Thomas. Hilarious movie, whereas "Rosalie goes shopping" is much better.

Perhaps there are more Bagdad Cafes in the US, dys.
I did a quick google search and came up with this one on Route 66

Gorgeous photo's, Walter!

I thought I had a favorite (blue sky / trees / mountain background) until I saw the moon over the mountains.

No, wait. There was something intriguing about the cross on the church appearing between powerlines, too.

And, I laughed myself silly over the pic of Dys "snapping" you back!

Thank you for taking me along on your adventure. I really had a great time and hope to see you all again. Very Happy
