BernardR is a reincarnation of Mort B A T (a/k/a mortkat) in another of a series of reincarnations via a new user name. He probably has more user accounts than the most prolific member on this board has posts.

Apparently some of the people on this thread have never had the opportunity to read Debra LAW. Why, her expositions on the nature and meaning of the Constitution are absolutely brilliant although I must admit I don't understand every bit of what she writes. But it's like Shakespeare. You might not understand all of it but you just know it is extraordinary.

I am serious. Do you deny that Debra LAW is one of the most prolific and brilliant LAW theorists in this country?

You don't believe it? Read her lengthy and, to the layman, almost unintelligible offerings. She has an answer for every constitutional legal problem in the USA,

Abortion

States Rights'

Powers of the Courts

etc. etc. etc.

A recent presidential proclamation:

Quote:
For Immediate Release
Office of the Press Secretary
April 28, 2006

Law Day, U.S.A., 2006
A Proclamation by the President of the United States of America

America's legal system is central to protecting the constitutional principles on which our Nation was founded. As we observe Law Day, we celebrate our heritage of freedom, justice, and equality under the law.

This year's Law Day theme, "Liberty Under Law: Separate Branches, Balanced Powers," honors the wisdom of the separation of powers that the Framers of our Constitution established for the Federal Government. Delegates to the Constitutional Convention recognized the risks that accompany the concentration of power and devised a system in which the Federal Government's authorities are divided among three independent branches. James Madison highlighted the importance of our Constitution's separation of powers when he wrote, "the accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands . . . may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny."

Throughout our Nation's history, we have been reminded repeatedly of the wisdom of the Framers' design. Our system of separation of powers has safeguarded our liberties and helped ensure that we remain a government of laws. Law Day is an occasion for us to celebrate our Constitution and to honor those in the judiciary and legal profession who work to uphold and serve its principles.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, in accordance with Public Law 87-20, as amended, do hereby proclaim May 1, 2006, as Law Day, U.S.A. I call upon all the people of the United States to observe this day with appropriate ceremonies and activities. I also call upon Government officials to display the flag of the United States in support of this national observance.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this twenty-eighth day of April, in the year of our Lord two thousand six, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirtieth.

GEORGE W. BUSH

Shocked
After so many attempts to expand executive power, that he has the nerve to make such a statement is almost as though he's daring America to impeach him.

The balls on this guy.

Just An Observer may feel that I am not being serious. I am serious. You see, before I read Debra LAW, I was suffering under the delusion that too few judges keep their sworn oath to uphold the constitution. Those who do look to the text of the Constitution and the intent of the framers when deciding a constitutional question and believe they are bound to them, but after reading Debra LAW, I realize that judges may indeed substitute their personal beliefs, values and policies for those enumerated in the Constitution. She has expressed it so well that I am coming around to believing it.

No, you're not being serious. Your being an assh*le. For Chrissakes, grow up already. If it's attention your looking for, try getting it by engaging in mature conversation.
Make (yet another) username, come back and try behaving like an adult.

Just an Observer-sir-I can see that you are an experienced poster. Perhaps, you, given your extensive background, can help me. Please define "mature conversation" as it should be on these threads. I really don't know what you mean.

And, sir, may I respectfully suggest that when you take the first line of my post and do not replicate the rest of it, it is you who are not being serious. Not only are you not being serious, some might say you are being dishonest.

Mortkat...er ... Mill.. er... BernardR has latched onto a critical part of Bush's strategy for victory in Iraq! Glad to have you on board, buddy! Saying one thing and meaning another is tough for anyone, but you seem to have nearly mastered it. Now, you need to lose the whine, and just go with dead-pan, or even boredom, so that your words will be taken at face value.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart, for making us ever closer to that victory in Iraq.

Miller, BernardR, Mort B A T, et al. Don't you feel silly sitting at your keyboard, inventing multiple identities, and using one invented identity to defend another invented indentity on the very issue of multiple user accounts? If you think about it, it's the height of insanity. Perhaps you should seek treatment for your multiple online personality disorder.

You, and your split personalities, once identified, will now be ignored. I guess you will need to dig around in your bag of user accounts and find one that isn't so obvious so you can continue your identity-switching fun a little longer without detection. What an exciting time you're having, huh?
