It's much more peaceful now without anon-voter barging in with his chickenhawk spiel.

Making these comments is nothing more then an attempt to make war-supporters appear as hypocrits. They do nothing more than raise ire and provoke those who support the war.

It's bait.

Okay, are you, then, maintaining that everyone who holds the opinion that a war is proper must immediately enlist, or else be a hypocrite, and that this has applied to all wars in all countries throughout history?

I'm maintaining, because no one has thus far proved otherwise, that this was a war of choice, not necessity. Egged on by an administration bereft of conscience and no regard for truth or the lives of those they so thoughtlessly threw into harm's way. Aided by folks like you, who can beat the drums of war from the safety of their armchairs, knowing that they'll never have to be called upon to make that ultimate sacrifice that they expect so freely of others. The wanton, needless waste should sicken all men of conscience. To call for it's continuance from the safe haven made possible by that selfsame service of others is simply evil.

So, you're saying that anyone who believes that this war is justified is morally obligated to join the military? You're saying that the mere fact of agreement obligates each person to join? Am I stating your opinion correctly?

Name calling is the lowest form of political debate, and tends more to suggest that the person doing it is in the wrong, than that he is in the right.

Specifically what error of mine are you referring to? Do you have a specific disagreement, or have you simply degenerated to name calling because you can't compete in the arena of actual debate?

At the same time Bush JUNIOR was supporting the Vietnam War, he was evading the risk of putting himself in harm's way by having his daddy secure him a spot in the Texas Air National Guard. Bush thinks war is great so long as someone else is doing the dying.

The same holds true for you, Brandon. You beat your war drums and think the war is great so long as someone else is doing the dying. If you truly supported the war, you would join the armed forces and do your part. But, you're a hypocrit. You expect other people to give their lives for the policies you support, but you're unwilling to give your own.

You shouldn't expect others to do for this country what you yourself are UNWILLING to do.

I can always count oun Brandy for a daily chuckle or two. Thanks Brandy!

There's a port on a western bay
And it serves a hundred ships a day
Lonely sailors pass the time away
And talk about their homes

And there's a girl, in this harbor town
And she works, laying whiskey down
They say "Brandy, fetch another round"
She serves them whiskey and wine

The sailors say "Brandy, you're a fine girl
What a good wife you would be
Yeah your eyes could steal a sailor
From the sea."

Brandy, wears a braided chain
Made of finest silver from the north of Spain
A locket, that bears the name
Of a man that Brandy loved

He came, on a summer's day
Bringing gifts, from far away
But he made it clear, he couldn't stay
No harbor was his home

The sailors said "Brandy, you're a fine girl
What a good wife you would be
But my life, my lover, my lady
Is the sea."

Yeah Brandy used to watch his eyes when he told his sailor's story
She could feel the ocean fall and rise, she saw it's raging glory
But he had always told the truth, Lord he was an honest man
And Brandy does her best to understand

At night, when the bars close down
Brandy walks through a silent town
And loves a man, who's not around
She still can hear him say, she hears him say

"Brandy, you're a fine girl
What a good wife you would be
But my life, my lover, my lady
Is the sea"

"Brandy, you're a fine girl
What a good wife you would be
But my life, my lover, my lady
Is the sea"

It was lame. You should have said "Why? Do you need me to find your real father?" At least that would have stayed in context. As it is, it just looks like a feeble attempt to try to "get" me.

Not your best work.

So, is it your opinion that the mere fact of agreeing that a war is worthy morally obligates the person who forms the opinion to join the military? If we fought another war, and you decided that it was justified, would you then immediately join the military?

There is a logical flaw in your argument. It is this. No matter what the personal shortcomings of the president, and no matter what my personal shortcomings, it in no way proves that the arguments we advance in support of the war are incorrect. To be fair, you would have to debate an argument in favor of the invasion of Iraq on its merits, not on the basis of its origin.

When someone posts an idea with which you disagree, and you attack him without debating his idea, it says something negative about you, but doesn't discredit his idea. The interpretation is either that you're unable to compete on the basis of calm, dignified argument, or that you've very immature.
