Sorry, didn't mean to leave you out Mame Very Happy

I've had that salad I think and it's good (there were walnuts too and it was served on a bed of greens)

All's well. I added a bit of cabbage, a frond of chard, cut up, and some penne rigate. Soup is presently heavenly. I think it's because of the pre roasted sweet red peppers.

and the roasted garlic,

and probably the onions.

..... but largely the skill of the cook, I'd say! Very Happy

(PS Regular chard is called "silverbeet" in Oz.- seeing you mentioned it - The red variety you've mentioned is marketed as "ruby" or "rainbow chard" (because of the lovely ruby, yellow & purple stems). I love the stuff. But you already know that, don't you, osso!? Very Happy )

Dinner was a true mish-mash of flavours but nobody complained. I'd baked beans in a slow oven today for later in the week but everybody wanted a little taste, so...even though it's not what I would have chosen to serve with green peas, basmati rice and salmon, how could I refuse? Glazed the salmon with a little soya sauce and ginger marmalade (a combination stolen from an ad I saw for a new healthy line of frozen dinners -- that'll teach 'em to be so descriptive!). It was excellent!

Roast chicken with lil potatoes and peas on the side.

Set did good work. A marvel at doing mise en place.

That salmon... gads I miss salmon!

I had roast chicken too, only mine was leftover...

Not that I had it or will have it. But it's a nice suggestion, isn't it?

I always knew you were a bit of a dreamer, Walter.

Not a bad thing, really ....

So what really was on the table for your dinner tonight?

Lunch yesterday was Nuremberg sausages, roasted savoy cabbage with a light caraway sauce, mashed potatoes.

Today it will be some fish-noodle-vegetable casserole.

That sounds very good Walter, but you are now going to have to explain, for us folks who don't live in Nuremberg, what a Nuremberg sausage is!

I like the sound of the caraway sauce, too! That's a new one for me.

Mashed potatoes I understand! Very Happy

Sounds like a great dinner, Dot!

Last night I made my first fish "curry". I found the easiest of easiest recipes, used some red curry paste, light coconut milk, basil leaves & a few other goodies .... including a nice healthy, firm, just-bought piece of fish, of course! The result?: Great! Surprised

While I was at dance class, Setanta put together a casserole of scalloped potatoes layered with slices of left-over pork roast and chiffonaded bok choy.

This is dang good.
