msolga - farmerM's posted a riff on a 'popular' credit card ad series.

Everything (no matter the cost) ends up with a priceless result.

Ah. Thanks for explaining, ehBeth.

Obviously I'm in the wrong country, or am watching the wrong channels, or something.

all that's needed is a "smell transmitter" .
wasn't it during the 60's that one could buy lp shaped disks that emitted a smell (perfume ?) when played on a turntable - no music , i believe .

Dinner tonight: A roasted free range chicken with a nifty (& surprisingly tasty!) couscous stuffing. Baked potato plus salad of cherry tomatoes & basil, just picked from the garden, with Balsamic vinegar dressing. Too uncomfortable & sticky to cook anything involving much effort.

a small filet mignon , white aspargus , mashed , green side salad with a touch of cole slaw and some leftover shrimps , tommy juice - i was not feeling any hunger pangs until tea time - just some tea and german style christmas cookies (spitzecken , for those in the know - chocolate covered ginger/spice cookies) .
time for a whole-grain sandwich and some fresh fruit now .

Too hot & sticky to feel even vaguely inspired to go anywhere near a hot stove. So last night's effort was a mixture of take-away: one of those delicious fetta & spinach pides & some fresh hummus from the Turkish shop just down the street a bit .... & my own contribution: a big salad of greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, spring onions & herbs from the garden & a cold hard-boiled egg. Perfect! Very Happy

Last night I made one of my el quicko/easy peasy summer dinners: cous cous (with parmesan & baby spinach leaves stirred through) with roasted pumpkin, Roma tomatoes, mushroom & very thin slices of onion. Then slivers of toasted almonds & parsley on top of that! Served with a hastily made yoghurt, garlic & parsley & mint "sauce". Very nice & perfect for a no hastle summer dinner! Very Happy

Speaking of "no hastle": I placed a sheet of baking paper under the vegetables in the baking dish, before sprinkling the lot with some olive oil. (A tip I read in a cook book recently.) I must say this cooked the vegetables perfectly (nice & juicey!) & made cleaning & washing the baking dish dead easy. No scraping & scrubbing!

Yum, that sounds delicious.

As for me? Whopper and fries Embarrassed I had to get the oil changed in car after work. It was just too easy to stop at Burger King since it was right across the street from the shop.

Indeed, this is very unlike you! Call it your once-a-year event, indulged in under extreme duress, Swimpy! Laughing

All I had the energy for -- just knowing it was waiting in the fridge helped me steer away from Wendy's on the way home. (Do you have Wendy's in Oz? It's fast food but a step up from McDonald's IMO.)

Wendy's, Tai? I'm not sure, really. If we don't, I'm sure we will before too long! If there's a buck to be made, we'll certainly get it! So it goes .....

Congratulations for holding your dominion! I like to see folk exercising this sort of will power! You are a strong woman!
