Dinner tonight - or last night.

I don't know what it is, just something on Bugs Bunny cartoons.

Is it steak? I know chicken fried steak has no chicken in it.

I know I'm being lazy by not googling, but I'd rather hear from someone who likes it than some neutral website.

Actually you can make chicken fried steak using chicken. I've done it many times.

More like a burger than a steak.

The closest we have to that would be meatballs called faggots, those are made with pork liver and onions and served with gravy.

They sell them in the frozen food aisle. I think Brains is the best known brand.

That reminds of of the homemade dog treats I made using chicken livers.

Chicken liver is very inexpensive here and the dogs loved them!

I've never relished mincing up liver which is why I've never made any.

Or bought any to be honest, my mother would occasionally serve them up but since leaving home I've not bothered.

liverwurst;s cousin , braunshweiger , is another puddstyle but is way less salty than the NY Hassidic tyle.

Sometimes I'll make something fast and easy, like I did Friday night. Seared ahi tuna and a pasta salad.

Cilantro Lime Chicken

We call cilantro coriander. I am one of those people whose genes make coriander taste like soap, so it's a non starter in this house, the kids have inherited it too.

I like cilantro on my tacos along with some lime juice. I have a spice in the cabinet called coriander, I don't recall using it very often though.

I think cilantro is the fresh version. I like Mexican food too, if any recipe calls for for coriander I just leave it out.

I like paprika, I use it a lot.

Tonight I’m making salmon rice and fresh green beans 😎

I just got back from the market where I bought everything to make chicken fettuccine Alfredo. I make my own Alfredo sauce with heavy cream, butter and Parmesan cheese. Sometimes I’ll add broccoli but I forgot to buy it. I like it with mushrooms but Alex Martin doesn’t like them and he has to pick them out of his food.

I went to the market today and tonight I will be making Crispy Almond Tilapia with red beans and rice and some steamed broccoli.

Since the kids will be here this weekend I will have to do some meal planning. Saturday night we’re all eating out so I don’t have to worry about that night. I think I’ll look for a good cabbage roll recipe to make for tonight. I wish I had my mom’s recipe, she made the best cabbage rolls.

Tonight it was very quiet and we just did homemade hamburgers and my baked beans. It's actually a recipe I got from a woman I met when I was working with an adult support group. (It was a center that provided job training and jobs and various activities for adults with disabilities/people who were wards of the State). I was a volunteer who served on the board of directors...The entire board were volunteers who oversaw activities and tried to raise money for the organization. I really hated the raise money part, I met a lot of sleazy people during that phase of activity.

Shame on me, I couldn’t find a good recipe I liked for cabbage rolls so I went to Gelson’s and bought pre-made cabbage rolls, just had to heat them up. I was running out of time and couldn’t make them myself.

Were they good? I have a Gelson's close by, should check it out.
