For my sweetie and me, I made a fish and rice dish.

Had some salmon steaks defrosting, so I skinned them and cut them up as for kebabs. I fried some green and red peppers in a little oil, and added the salmon pieces later.
I served it on a bed of long-grain rice, to which some frozen peas had been added, and brought back to the boil just before serving. Steamed broccoli and some fresh tomato pieces completed the ensemble.
It was voted a success.

That reminds me of a meat market I saw once, must have been some new immigrants, with a sign that said "Sheep Meat". Laughing

That was my shop, cjhsa, and you misread the sign.

It said "Sheep Meet"

It's my way of luring them in.

That's not an unknown term in the trade, here. Perhaps they were immigrants from Britain.

It's hard to get mutton, here, unless you go to a specialist butcher. Most sheep meat is sold as "lamb", which I think is less than two years old (tho' I might be mistaken here).

It is most certainly NOT used in the States. Smile I would bet that at least half of the people that saw that sign before it was changed thought it was a misspelling of "Cheap Meat".

Well okay...you call a toilet a "rest room" or a "bathroom" too, I hear, but nobody minds.

Anyway, dinner last night was swedish meatballs - mildly seasoned and served in a sour cream sauce, over egg noodles, with green beans.

That sounds nice.

I made a salad....sliced ham (pig meat, cured, boiled) with mixed leaves, sliced radish, carrot, mushroom, red/green/yellow peppers, tomatoes and a nice mayonnaise.

To follow, fresh fruit salad- apple/orange/banana segments, and creme fraiche. (That might be soured cream in American, or something similar.)

It means "what ever". I wasn't sure if you were arguing with me or not and didn't want to get into it with you.

Last night we had the meatballs again. I have a tendency to cook for seven people and thus our icebox is always full of leftovers.

We have had a summer party and the weather is just right- hot. So I prepared a lot of cold dishes:
Gazpacho, Taboulé, Caponata, cold schnitzel mignon, mixed lettuce, fresh berries, ganitas ( coffe and lemon).
Leftovers for today.

Leftover boiled baby potatos, nicoise olives, green beans, and waxed beans along with leftover chicken and baby bok choi from a different meal, all at room temp with tarragon vinegarette.

I'll probably have the same thing tonight to finish up the leftovers.

All those meals sound so good. Tonight I had a black bean burrito on a whole wheat tortilla with homemade pico de gallo. I also had a salad with more pico de gallo and ranch dressing.
