So, the enchiladas were ok. A little strong in the canned sauce taste. On the other hand, I haven't been all that crazy about any of the enchiladas I've had in restaurants here in New Mexico yet either. And the tortilla tasted fine at first and then not so fine shortly after, prehaps a preservative taste.

I think tomorrow I'll get rid of all the tortillas, handily fairly easy to do, and make soup with the rest of it by adding fresh tomatoes and some broth.

we just got back from Zizi Trattoria

http://www.zizi.ca/bloor/gallery/2.jpg

after a basket of great chewy bread for the table ... and a beverage to start the stories and giggles ...

Set started his meal with :Stracciatella : Egg drop parmigiano soup in a delicious chicken broth

I ordered from this to share with Set and Gautam (did I mention we'd be seeing Gautam tonight? Very Happy )

Antipasto : Create your own delicious platter : A joy to share or a meal in itself!

• Giardiniera • Tomatoes
• Grilled Peppers • Spicy Green Olives
• Sun-dried Tomatoes • Artichoke Hearts
• Bocconcini • Asiago
• Salami • Prosciutto
• Grilled Eggplant • Anchovies
• Marinated Mushrooms • Provalone Cheese

I picked a coupla different things tonight (I'm a bit too same old same old in my choices at Zizi, so I decided to mix it up) - sun-dried tomatoes, asiago, grilled eggplant, artichoke hearts and spicy green olives.

Gautam ordered : La Pizza di ZiZI : Enjoy an authentic Italian gourmet pizza. All our pizzas are rolled on corn flour and drizzled with olive oil, garlic and basil...La Boiano :Mozzarella, spices and bruschetta topping with extra hot chilis (and then he added Tabasco sauce Shocked )

Set went for the : Fettucini ZiZi :Fettucini in a creamy parmigiano sauce with succulent grilled chicken and vegetables

while I went on to one of the evening specials "medallions" - giant ravioli stuffed with ricotta and spinach in a rose sauce. Monday's lunch will be my left-overs.

sigh

lots of stories
lots of jokes
lots of giggles
lots of laughter

I forgot to say that I just love that chewy, crusty Italian bread! Sometimes I could almost skip the meal & just dine on the bread (when it's especially fresh & wonderful)!

Question: How long is the Princely One staying in your area? And where will you be dining next? Zizi Trattoria will be a hard act to follow!

Hugs to the G-man from me as well.

Sweet corn!!! That will be the centerpiece tonight. Our first of the year. We'll either have grilled salmon and grilled corn or black bean burritoes and corn. Depends on how hot it gets today.
