[cauliflower (not as a gratin but like à la Viennoise)]
Might it be that we call it à la Polonaise?
Exactly that it is
(Mine didn't look nicer but was organic
)
Pasta shells tossed with sauteed garlic, onions, parsely, goat cheese and roma tomatoes. A lot of parsley. I like parsely.
Boneless chicken breast with baby bok choi, shitake mushrooms, soy/ginger/garlic sauce and brown rice.
Walter and Ul,
How do you make cauliflower a la Polonaise? Do you cook it first and then bake with a topping, or just add the topping as you serve?

long Mondays and wintertime -really not nice.
These are the times when I don't like cooking.
Now, in summer and being on jollydays (holidays), it is different.
Iced potato soup, grilled filet of pork, a casserole of French beans, chanterelles, tomatoes, some thyme, a jelly made of different kinds of berries- here called "Rote Grütze".
Yes, indeed, ul.
It's not much fun.
Not after work, anyway!
Now that sounds a yummy (in summer! ):
Iced potato soup!
That's a new concept to me!

Yes, I'd love to know, too!
It looks
good!
For tonight I'm thinking super easy again.: Roasted pumpkin & almond ravioli squares (bought, but made locally. Good!) with something like the simplest "sauce" of chives or thinly sliced spring onion greens lightly sauteed in melted butter. Maybe some toasted pine nuts on top?
msolga,
cauliflower is cooked first, then you top it.
hardboiled egg, diced
breadcrumbs
butter
parslay
Melt the butter in a pan, add breadcrumbs and egg, stir and let them brown slightly, add parslay,
serve.
Here this kind of topping is used for cauliflower, broccoli, asparagus, Swizz Chard ( when you prepare the stems like asparagus).
MMMHM- pumpkin ravioli.
But too hot today.
We will have Styrian salad.
I put it under the grill for a minute or two .... especially, when I've added some cheese to the ingredients ul named ...
With cheese- then you have a Polonaise á la Walter.
Thank you ul & Walter!
I'm going to try that! I'm sure Kara will, too!
Dinner is ready!
& I'm out of pine nuts! (Out of pine nuts???!
Unthinkable!
)
It tastes delicious. (But then, I'm
famished!)
Pizza - delivered. With tomatoes, green peppers, mushrooms, onions, black olives and green olives.
I had pretty much the same thing as last night, but with toasted pinenuts and basil added and sans goat cheese.
porkchops, yellow rice, squash & zucchini and tomatoes from the garden.
very good baked chicken on top of pasta
veggies
Setanta had the errrrrrrrm interesting idea of throwing bbq shake and bake on the noodles. Maybe not the most absolutely brilliant idea. Sweet noodles, mmmmmm, not so much.

Chewy italian bread with boursin cheese and smoked salmon, mmmm.
I did a salad tonight -- greens, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, olives, roasted tomatoes - with a dressing of pumpkin oil, balsamic vinegar, and some almond oil. I found some fresh tuna at the local market and seared it for just a few minutes. Sliced that onto the salad.
