@msolga,
Thank you!
Turkey #2 is ready to go into the oven.
Happy Thanksgiving!
@ehBeth,
I'm not sure what to do with that one, might just give it to Gilbert or we will be eating turkey for a week!
@jcboy,
Cook it up and give the cooked turkey to Gilbert - or freeze it in sections after it is cooked.
Don't forget to save the carcass for making stock.
(where do you get such small turkeys? I don't know that I've ever seen one under 20 pounds)
Something tells me Morgan has spent some time on a psychiatrist's couch, if he hasn’t he might want to consider it.
My turkey is coming along quite nicely. I took it out to baste it.
@jcboy,
The first turkey I ever cooked looks fabulous! But after all the work it took to cook the damn thing has turned me off from wanting to eat it.
@jcboy,
I always get that way after spending hours and hours cooking something. Just keep thinking...mmmm...turkey sandwiches!
@Irishk,
Irish that was an excellent turkey, Very tender and moist.
I knew Morgan wasn’t a fan of turkey and he only made it because Antonio said he likes turkey. It was a sweet gesture, now Morgan can order his pizza.
@jcboy,
That's a gorgeous looking bird. Good cooking, Morgan!
I see that bird and I think soup stock ... for delicious turkey veg soup.
@ehBeth,
Thank you! I'm going to have to learn how to make a stock, I love good soup, good and healthy food!
@jcboy,
That turkey looks good indeed, although I wouldn't eat it either, I don't like turkey and we usually serve duck or goose on Thanksgiving.
Cut up some pieces and freeze them for quick dinners during the week, especially for Antonio, since he likes turkey.
Tonight I'm having chorizo in scrambled eggs, plus some leftover salad (lettuces, cooked green beans, cut up artichoke quarters) and homemade roll.
This is a test. The last chorizo I bought - something like three years ago - was too ghastly grease filled. I know it's not health food, but I won't use much at any one time. We'll see, this brand looks much better to my eye.
We spent an hour at the park for the Easter egg hunt. Antonio found six eggs!
I’m making a cold green bean salad with crispy bacon to take to our friend’s house. We have been invited for Easter din din.
@jcboy,
Looks good Morgan, we're bringing pies.
just popped a pasta bake into the convection toaster oven
layers of scoobi-doo pasta, ff cottage cheese, provolone, chunky tomato sauce and pasta sauce ... topped with chicken breasts stuffed with asparagus and provolone
s'gonna be yummy
(I need to work on the food porn photos)
@ehBeth,
I’m stuffed! Today we had ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans, pasta salad, corn, cheese cake, cherry pie and cake. It will take me three days to work this meal off.
Making a ricotta/egg torte (sauteed spinach and onions and previously cooked/dressed green beans, some cut up artichoke quarters, some previously cooked brown rice, s & p & basil), olive oil mixed wheat crust - - -
at the same time I'm making chicken soup (stock from prev eaten chicken, some cooked spinach, green beans, red onions, spicy adobo porky pinto beans, some green peas, some bits of chicken, some rice).
This could get confusing. The torte is to be sliced and frozen for breakfasts.
Time for an apple while I wait for the pie crust to get cold and the soup to become soup.
4 sweet & spicy wings from the grocery store
gf/lf/kosher tater salad from Baldwin St
tabbouleh
broccoli salad
1/2 of 1/2 of a piece of spinach/egg pie
a few hours later - a chocolate Christmas bell I discovered
@jcboy,
"cheese cake, cherry pie and cake"
are you sure you boys are getting enough dessert?
what, no ice cream...?
