grilled bratwurst put into a pan, covered in a mix of red cabbage and sauerkraut (I couldn't decide which I'd like more)

it was quite tasty

Went to a recommended restaurant last night. Saw the Veal Piccata on the menu and ordered it.
Bummer.
The veal was too thick and they hadn't pounded it.
It had the consistency of chicken fried steak and was burned to boot.
At least the key lime pie and cappuccino were tasty

@panzade,
I had a dinner OF chicken fried steak that was as tender as veal and was coated with a nice (more sweet) crispy coating . The gravy was also nice and tasty

Lots of julienned b=veggies sauteed in a butter and a nice salad of arugula, pepper grass, beet tops , cherry tnaters (rather good for this time of year) sliced onion and mango chunks with a nice balsamic.
Dessert was a brown pond cake with a frit composte and whup cream

Farmerman, please don't tell me that you really are mad with your whip cream. What did it do to make you whup it? Wink Razz

@jcboy,
Tonight Marco made one of my favorite Mexican dishes, Chili Verdi, good chili Verdi is hard to find and his was the best I’ve had. Had it with beans and Spanish rice.

@jcboy,
I’ve learned so much in my cooking class I signed up for 8 more weeks. My instructor said I’ve been doing quite well.

Tonight I made chicken fettuccine alfredo topped with bacon bits and grilled green beans.

Yesterday I made a homemade cheesecake; it had to sit over night in the fridge so we will have it for dessert tonight.

@jcboy,
My cheesecake was a success, they loved it. I gave a giant piece to my next door neighbor Gilbert. We will never eat the whole thing.

I have a new habit when I make my ricotta tortes - I make extra dough from a recipe to make sure the dough is enough to work for a pie plate. Thus... dough to freeze from the trimming. I've been making mixed flour olive oil doughs, so these have been varying. One of these days I'm getting to the garbanzo bean flour that I finally found here in town. (Now to remember why I wanted that specifically - something about garbanzo bean flour pancakes - indian food.)

Anyway, yesterday I had enough to make some little dumplings, sort of like easy ravioli or potstickers. I filled them with a canned small shrimp/garlic/water chestnut/hoisin sauce mix and some leftover chicken/previously frozen sauteed onions/bit of soy/blackberry jam/mix. Baked them instead of frying and ate some right away. Both tasted good, so that'll be a new kitchen trick. Froze the rest. What I've learned - the deal is to roll the dough nice and thin.

Tonight is pizza, but I've gotten a late start.
