Japanese grocery store food. Isobedango (Japanese rice sticks: sweet rice dough with a nori wrap). And two hand-held triangles of rice, one with spicy tuna and one with scallion miso, wrapped with sheets of nori. The latter are one of my favorite snacks - so much so that they have become comfort food when my gut gets wonky (must be all the rice).

Rice 'balls' look like this:

Extremely boring dinner tonight. Tired & not caring to go to any special trouble: some of last night's left-over roast chicken in a roll with cherry tomatos & lots of ground pepper. Earlier on: smoked mussels on Salada crackers. Now eating my second mandarine in a row.

Tonight some other folk are cooking dinner for me/us. Thank god! I'm am so sick of my own efforts! Actually, I'm hoping to talk them into take-away. Pizza perhaps. That way no one has to hassle.

I'm in cook mode - wanna drop by for a feed?

Last night - a really hearty beef stew, with lots of red wine - and some for the cook - and vegetables.

Tomorrow - my verson of a Jamie Oliver pork and fennel dish - tried it last week and it was great - and pork was on special yesterday - so bought a heap.

Also have chicken, to go into some sort of galangal curry - haven't thought this through, yet. I have a ****-load of ginger also!

Tonight - rugby - Australia vs England, (go Wallabies!) followed by the final of the French Open Tennis (go Roger!) and then there'll probably be some World Cup football on. A night ot telly-watching - and tomorrow is a public holiday - a cold, wet and miserable long weekend!

No wonder I feel like cooking and eatiing.
