@Dorothy Parker,
Dorothy! How nice to see you! Very Happy (It's been ages!)
Unfortunately I'm no expert at cooking lamb ... but I know others here are! <hint, hint>

Me: tonight I cooked a very easy & quick fish, garlic, tomato (& a few other ingredients) stew. Yum, it was delicious!

@Wilso,
Wonderful photograph, Wilso. Are the other two women your wife's sisters?

Just friends that she's met since she's been here. Just two of the dozens!

@alex240101,
Just saw your post about morels. Dont screw with em . They should just be sauteed in butter and gradually (as you get more comfortable with them, then you can add other stuff). Remember, the flavor they give is delicate a nd mildly fungii. Gradually you can add stuff like green onions or serve with a wee bit of Bernaise.
NEVER overpower them with putting in large batches of onions and cooking the hell out of them like button mushrooms are often done.

@farmerman,
Quote:
Morel Cracker Crumb Fry
Serves 6 to 8 as an appetizer

Collecting morels in May is a Midwestern American tradition for many admirers of this mushroom. Be sure to keep the mushrooms dry and crisp. Cook small amounts at a time so they can be served hot.

20 to 30 small morels
1 egg, slightly beaten with 2 tablespoons cold water
1/2 cup cracker crumbs
Salt and pepper to taste
5 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons olive oil
Roll the morels in the egg mixture. Put the cracker crumbs, salt, and pepper in a paper bag. Quickly shake the morels a few at a time in the bag. Melt the butter with the oil in a sauté pan or skillet. Sauté the morels until brown and crisp.

Ive made these and they are very good. Only note is that remember NOT to fry and let them get soggy or cool. They are like lattkes in that they are best when just from the pan and crispy warm and flavorful.

@farmerman,
Hello farmerman. Not to worry,..I didn't use the morrells in a stroganoff or a million ingredient dish.I wanted them to be the stars of the dish. So, lightly sauteed in butter. I do know mushroom shrink,...but the morrells shrunk fifty percent, leaving a wonderful morrell gravy. ....and that made for wonderful dipping with the delmonico. Pilaf also received some sauce. Half of container left. Will share tonight with two other people who never have tried a morrell.

...and thank you for the recipe and insight farmerman. Good day.

Not your ordinary macaroni salad. Mayonaise, radishes and scallions chopped fine,..salt and pepper,...then the last ingredient,..the star of it,.....dill. Lots, and lots of.. ....dill.

Sounds a good salad, Alex. I seared tuna tonight, served it really rare, sliced and cozying up to whole-wheat raviioli tossed with garlic and olive oil and a few T. of reduced tomato sauce. Those were looking across the plate at some sauteed spinach with garlic and a sprinkle of parmy/pecorino. I heated a mini loaf of whole grain bread.
