That's something else I've never had any luck getting ElStud to eat: lamb chops. This 100% all testosterone, macho, alpha male kind of guy gets all squishy when he thinks about eating a cute, innocent, little, fluffy, baby sheep. Smile

So.....if I snuck some in at dinner one night, how many chops for the average dinner portion?

Those look wonderful CJ. Recipe?

Foxfyre, I once served rabbit - no one touched it! Luckily I had some chicken
somewhere...
Lamb chops are so easy to make and taste delicious. They're small, so you'd
probably need 3 per person. Just season with salt and pepper, add the herbs (blend parsley, garlic and horseradish) and put it in the oven until ready. That's it!

@CalamityJane,
Thanks Jane. (I don't plan to say what the lamb chops are until they are tasted. I learned that when I told my kids once that we were having rabbit and they were certain I had murdered the Easter bunny.)

My butcher provides me with a beautiful loin chop cut. Semi fatty handle. After marinating in highly flammable liquid for twenty four, I sear (fire suit), then top rack them until medium rare.

Now what am I going to do for dinner this evening.

@alex240101,
Mmmm, rabbit, I've only had it in restaurants, usually in Tuscany, she says nostalgically. Rarely saw it in the market before I moved here to NM, and less now. On the other hand, I don't drive as far as the best markets. Fun to remember though.. afternoon repast at an osteria (restaurant) in Volterra called L'Ombra della Sera, re a sculpture in the etruscan museo across the street.

The sculpture, gads I love it -

The osteria - photo a tad hard to discern, but that's the place -http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3608/3457112076_549091a83c.jpg

@ossobuco,

@panzade,
I haven't been to either of those, though I did get to Lucca, which I fell for in a big way. Little K is associated with that area too, re visiting and family.

My bro in law's comment re Pisa was... about all the bicycles. I don't remember all that many bicycles in old Lucca, but do remember them in Parma..

@panzade,
it's a regular potato with a yellow flesh, they're a little softer than the standard white potato, i especially like them for mashed potatoes

@msolga,
Eating at a JJ Truck Stop next day or so. I had an old fashioned meat loaf n gravy with smashed taters and corn bread with two sides of crowder peas and greens cooked in hamhock likker. MMMMMMMMM-MMMM. I love these breaks where I can see the colors of old fashioned down home foods.

@farmerman,
That sounds so American, farmer! I only get to hear about food like this at the movies or in novels. JJ Truck Shop, I like that! Very Happy
