@msolga,
It was pretty good!

And just the easiest soup to make. Must do this again while there's lots of asparagus around.

@ehBeth,
after our swim we went out for breakfast this morning , did some shopping - including some shopping at the "golden rooster" danish deli .
decided a cold lunch was in order : fresh sourdough bread from pan chanco , gooseliver sausage , two kinds of smoked ham , "zwiebel-mettwurst" - a soft , salami style sausage with onions , butter and cheeses , lots of tea .

added a banana for potassium !!!

@ehBeth,
Ooh, I love fennel! (Like the fennel & pork sausages made locally ...)

Am yet to come across it in a biscuit, though .....

Sounds great!

@ehBeth,
Truth is - since i gave up the cigarettes - FOOD!!! oh my god! - i just can't tell you.
I've been smoking since i was 11 - so it's like i've NEVER tasted half this stuff properly before.
I have to be careful or i will put on weight.
Thing is though - i've decided that quantity can not make up for quality - unless it's garlic of course - i could eat garlic butter on toast with red wine until...
well, i won't go there

Cheers to you, Olga and EhBeth

ehBeth - i found your onion thread and i understand

Maybe sometime, when i'm more awake i will come over there and talk about veggies - i'm no expert and i never follow any recipes - but i'm beginning to find cooking almost the highlight of my day - it certainly is nothing like writing, but still so creative

Hey - thanks EhBeth - i've been missing all those cooking threads

Olga - about the smoking... i still get the urges but when they come (rarely now) i just tell them to 'sling their hook' (what ever THAT means)
Truth is, i need to budget now (don't we all) and i wouldn't want to spend the extra few quids on cigarettes ever again.

Hey Rockhead - i worked the bar in a pub in London for a year when i was just 'around' 18. i wrote something about it once, don't know where it would be though-buried in a thread somewhere i guess

Hey - the insomnia is beaten at last -I'm off t'me bed now

have a peaceful one

@Endymion,
Waves to Endy!

Strange day and strange evening. Early evening I was busy putting up curtain rods and hanging drapes (let's see, 52 11/16th" + 30" = 82 11/16" but the other rod holder would be at 83 1/8", so I have to move that holding screw down 7/16").

And I was not up for even the mildest cooking. So...

part of a bag of salted peanuts in the shell, and cold milk with cocoa and cinnamon, with ice, and pellegrino: sort of like a chocolate soda.
