I'm not sure where I heard this, but this is what I was told the "battle of the sexes" began..

Men are highly competive, hence to prove their prowess and their "manliness" they go out and try to get "as much as you can." They may have been imprinted this by means of obtaining as much Tail as they can, or it can be money.. cars.. possessions. This may have come from their peers, their family, older neighborhood kids. Ect... And they like to use this to "impress" women.

Now Women on the other hand have been raised differently. We are told, "what ever you do, don't give in." That means.. Tail.. cars.. money.. possessions Ect... Women feel they have to be more conservitive than men because they have to make an "impression". Men want selfconfidance. Men want Personality, Looks and for some; attitude. Ect..
