Since it does not seem to have sunk in with you, or as you are busily attempting to create a strawman, i am not defending his statement. I am simply pointing out that on the basis of your overly simplistic contention that war results from "military aggression," made without further qualification, his comment about voting Republican is supported by your comment, as the Republicans are responsible for this war. Or perhaps you are suggesting that MOAN voted for Eisenhower, and that therefore, Anon was referring to the Vietnam war? On a not unreasonable assuption that MOAN was not old enough to have voted in the time of any other war (i've seen a photograph of her, quite against my inclinations), Anon's remark about "voting for it" cannot have referred to any other war. You made the comment about "military aggression," and military aggression by the Republicans is the source of this war. Therefore, on the basis of your statement, his thesis is sustained. Your statement, not mine.

Eryemil.

Have you heard of the term "CHICKENHAWK"???

A "chickenhawk" if you don't know, is a warhawk who hasn't bothered to go through the trouble of serving their country in the military, nor have they served in a war, but they want others to do so!! They are very warlike, and want to solve things with military might. They however, lack the courage of their convictions, and have no intention of doing any of the bleeding, suffering, or dying for it. They want to sit their fat asses and play "Couch Commander", get rich on the expenses of war, and then dump the loans the nation is incurring on you and your generation so that you can pay them for the rest of your life! It's the epitome of greed, avarice, and self-centered excess. These people quite frankly need to be ripped out of their homes, put on a plane, and dropped in the middle of the battlefield!! They should be willing to put their bodies where their mouths are, but they won't ... believe me ... they have no stomach for it!!

I can guarantee you that Set does not agree with my sentiments about supporting the troops. He and I had this one out when I was using the name Stevepax, and he was quick to put me "in my place"!

However McG, when you get the courage of your convictions, and go serve in a war as AV has, you can pass judgment. Until then, you and the "chickenhawk brigade" haven't earned the right to say much about me!

As long as you sit on your fat ass and do nothing, you can ... ... ... !!!!!!!!

You are a poster on an internet forum with views that oppose mine. That gives me not only the right, but the obligation to pass judgement as I see fit. That includes showing your BS for what it is. You say you served, I have no reason to believe otherwise, but that doesn't make you any more deserving of an opinion than anyone else.

It makes you knowledgable? of what? Acting like a fool? You certainly demonstrate that all the time.

I think any person who has actually been in combat has a better perspective on what's really happening and not the BS we get from the media.

Just my opinion of course.

Then you must agree with most of MysteryMan's posts then, right?

No, I don't. If I read correctly, he served, but wasn't in combat.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
