What is the justification? What is the good cause?

I ask again: what is the justification? What is the good cause?

A non-inclusive list: Saddam/Iraq shielded, harbored, protected, and supported terrorists and al Qaeda; Saddam/Iraq violated numerous UN resolutions; Saddam/Iraq was either pursuing WMD, or failed to properly account for the whereabouts of his WMD stockpiles; Saddam refused to cooperate with UN inspectors; Saddam/Iraq violated the terms of the peace treaty following the Gulf War; Saddam/Iraq repeatedly fired on US aircraft patrolling the no-fly zone; Saddam/Iraq was a threat to the US.

Also, with regard to this statement:

Because my argument came out over the course of the thread in many different posts, in response to many other different posts, not in a cut and pasted article at the beginning, like yours.

What makes you think that my initial post in that thread was a cut-and-pasted article?

My faulty memory, most likely.

You are so full of crap ... WHY AREN'T YOU on the front lines?? Reading your stuff is like swimming in a **** river!!

Since you are so often the source of such rivers around here, I wouldn't think you'd have that great an aversion to the activity.

I have no trouble believing you're a lawyer, you have what amounts to an allergic reaction to the truth. You keep spinning the same lies like if you say them enough they'll be true. It's no wonder the frakking troops have no idea what the frak they're over there for. You people can't get your bloody lies straight. All this stuff you puke up is straight crappola. The roots of this invasion go back decades, not to fly-over zones, or any other wetdreams you couch commanders come up with!!

The good news us that the tide is shifting, and voices like yours are being drowned out!! Soon we will kick you to the curb where you belong and bring them home whether you like it or not!

Thanks for your reply, Ticomaya, but, like Cycloptichorn, I think you're 0 for 7 on your reasons. Not that I'm surprised or disappointed, mind you.

You have evidence that Saddam supported Al Qaeda? Or harbored them? Assisted them? Conclusive evidence? I didn't think so.

So does the US and Israel. Immaterial to the question of justification.

We aren't talking about Israel, but Iraq which is quite relevant and material.

Which one was it? That Saddam was pursuing WMD, or that he couldn't account for destroying all his old WMD?

Also, neither is an indication of a morally incorrect action. There's nothing wrong with a country pursuing weapons. It is the height of hypocrisy for you to claim this provides justification.

Both, as he failed to allow UN inspectors to perform their duty over the 12 years prior to the latest war.

Saddam refused to cooperate with UN inspectors

They (the UN) certainly seemed to think he was cooperating in the months before the attack.

Only because the threat of war loomed.

Saddam/Iraq violated the terms of the peace treaty following the Gulf War

Really? It wasn't a violation for us to drop bombs continually during that time? Some peace agreement.

No, it wasn't.

Saddam/Iraq repeatedly fired on US aircraft patrolling the no-fly zone

You wrote 'patrolling' but obviously meant 'bombing.' You should get an editor.

No, he meant patrolling, which was why he said what he did. Under UN mandate and as required by the terms of the treaties signed.

Saddam/Iraq was a threat to the US

You have zero evidence of this.

Nonsense.

0/7 sucks. You really should try harder.

0 for 7? go figure... perhaps in your opinion, but that hardly matters.

Oh, I'm doing just fine. The weather is a bit gloomy, but nothing to complain about.

How is the weather holding up in your neck of the woods?

Awwww shucks Embarrassed

Ok, so I've been working on my garden plan this year and remember earlier in the thread when I mentioned I was going to plant a large variety this year? Well, I've decided what I was going to grow.
Of course I will plant my usual corn because I grow the best damn corn in town.
Then I'll have a few tomato plants, cucumbers, 3 different beans, squash, cantelope, honeydew mellon, basil, parsley, rosemary, other herbs I haven't decided on, beets, turnip, chives, onions, carrots and a few more things I can't remember at the moment.

Isn't that quite a handful growing that much of a variety?? That would seem like a lot of different conditions to control??
