Not only wrong but misspelled the name
Whose name? I don't even remember Mrs. J's full name.
Well, i said in the other thread that i was pretty much clueless in these matters, but i suppose we could run it down, now lessee:
Washington
Adams
Jefferson
Madison
Monroe
Adams
Jackson . . .
i remain clueless . . .
Hey! Wha' hoppen to this thread? Everybody give up? Jespah, you gonna give us any more clues or anything like that? (I hate to look these things up. Takes the fun out of the game.)
You are right MA I forgot about it. And like you I prefer roaming around the attic in my brain. I have printed the list out and will think on it over night to see if I can find some more answers/guesses.
Let me see if I can give a few meaningful hints.
These questions are about first ladies whose husbands were President during the 1800s:
1, 2, 4, 9, 10, 13, 15, 18, 20, 21, 24, 27, 28, 30, 33, 34, 37, 38, 39, 41
These questions are about first ladies whose husbands were President during the 1900s or later:
3, 5, 7, 11, 16, 17, 19, 22, 32, 40
Please keep in mind that I did the century placements off the top of my head so a few who were President between about 1880 and 1920 I may have put in the wrong century. If so, I regret the error(s).
1. Bess Truman
14. Eleanor Roosevelt
31. Mary Todd Lincoln
33. Mrs. Andrew Jackson
Arrgh, putting my think camp on again.
Nope; #3 isn't Laura Bush.
I see two possibilities for number 3.
My first choice is Rosalynn Carter. Though Jimmy went to Cuba as a former-President.
My second choice, Mamie Eisenhower.
Was #1 Mrs. Ulysses S. Grant?
Nope, nope and nope.
A lot of these are going to surprise you; they certainly surprised me.
4. Abigail Adams
14. Laura Bush
BillW - welcome! You got #14! :-D
Could 4 then be Sally Hemming?
Sally Hemmings was never a First Lady. Sorry.
