The "continued injustice, racism and environmental degradation" from which we suffer in the USA has been caused by contemporary liberals (i.e., leftists, socialists, communists, nazis, fascists, progressives, and Obama democrats) who continue brainwashing themselves into thinking that those who disagree with them are the cause. The "continued injustice, racism and environmental degradation" we are currently having to live with was greatly accelerated under Wilson and continued to be accelerated under Roosevelt, Carter, and worst of all now by Obama. Today's liberals cannot learn that previous implementations of their schemes in other countries cost millions of lives and caused great suffering.

Einstein was correct when he said that those who keep doing the samething over and over again expecting a different result are insane.

@ican711nm,
The KKK were/are rightwingers. Southern racists, conservatives all, continued slavery through bounty hunters, crooked justices of the peace, etc., until the Civil Rights Movement, a left wing movement. How many lefties say that global warming does not exist.

But, you feel good when you refuse to take the blame for your fellow travelers and you think by saying these absurd things that you are angering the left. All you do is lessen what shreds of credibility you might still have.

@mysteryman,
I looked this up. The troops went under Eisenhower and his vice president was the voice of the administration, promoting support for the action.

@H2O MAN,
A classic right wing racist comment.

While I have your attention: Republican Congressman Don Young is feeling the full force of grassroots Democrats over his outrageous Sarah Palin-esque comment saying that the Gulf of Mexico oil spill is "not an environmental disaster."

The right will do anything to destroy the environment and will then deny it.

@plainoldme,
The first US troops went into Vietnam in 1950.
They went in as part of the Military Assistance Advisory Group.
They were sent in on Sept of 1950 as advisors to the French.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Role_of_United_States_in_the_Vietnam_War#Harry_S._Truman_.281945.E2.80.931953.29

Truman was President then, NOT Eisenhower.

From the same link you will see that Eisebhower sent troops from the MAAG in on Nov 1, 1955 to train and assist the South Vietnamese troops, but Truman sent the first US troops to Vietnam, not Eisenhower.

While this doesnt have anything to do with Obama, I am trying to keep all the news about dems in 1 thread.

I found this today...

http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/news/2010/06/surprise_sc_senate_candidate_has_charge_pending.php?ref=fpblg

Quote:
South Carolina's surprise Democratic nominee to challenge U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint is facing a pending felony charge.

Court records show 32-year-old Alvin Greene was arrested in November and charged with showing obscene Internet photos to a University of South Carolina student. The felony charge carries up to five years in prison.

Greene said he had no comment when asked about the charge Wednesday and hung up on a reporter.

The unemployed veteran posted bond after his arrest. He has yet to enter a plea or be indicted.

I thought that you couldnt run if you had charges pending against you (but i may be wrong about that).

More importantly, what does this say about this mans character?
Should he be allowed to run?
Should the dem party support him?

Plainoldme, Socialism is a probable transition to communism, or fascism, or naziism. For none of those outcomes to occur, socialism must be stopped quickly before that transition can occur.

Communists, fascists, and nazis killed millions during the 20th century. The only real distinction between them is not their consequences. Those consequences are the same--mass murder. Their differences are merely in their slogans and what they claim they want to accomplish.

Rightist (e.g., conservatives) want to achieve equal liberty for everyone under the law. Leftist (e.g., contemporary liberals) want to achieve equal wealth for themselves regardless of the law.

The KKK are and were leftists who committed mass murder and who did not want to achieve equal liberty under the law. They wanted to achieve equal wealth among themselves.

Obama To Make Reassuring Eye Contact With Every Last American

ROCKLAND, ME"In an attempt to convince an anxious populace that his legislative agenda is working and that everything is going to be all right, President Barack Obama embarked on a 50-state, 30,000-town tour Monday during which he plans to gaze assuredly into the eyes of each American citizen, one at a time.

"I know a lot of people out there are nervous. They're worried about unemployment, the oil spill in the Gulf, and whether or not I am making the right choices in Washington," Obama said during a rally at Rockland District High School. "To those Americans, I offer you this inspiring, confident gaze."

Obama then stepped down from his podium, walked into the 2,000-person audience, and peered comfortingly into each person's eyes. After taking 45 minutes to methodically work his way from the front row all the way to the balcony, and punctuating each look with a gentle pat on the shoulder, Obama returned to the stage, collected himself, and addressed the silent group before him.

"There," he said. "All better."

In their announcement of the "2010 Eye-to-Eye Tour," White House officials said that Obama will first spend two weeks making eye contact with the 55 million residents of the densely populated Northeastern states, looking into their eyes and, if necessary, offering them an encouraging head nod. Obama will then continue down the East Coast before taking on the tour's biggest challenge: gazing with confidence into the eyes of a hostile Southern electorate that largely rejects his policies.

Sources said in order to convince Southerners that the $787 billion economic stimulus package is working and that the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell is necessary, Obama will stare at them with a serious yet caring squint, give them a soothing smile, and, if necessary, mouth the words "trust me."

At press time, Obama was making his way down North Calvert Street in Baltimore, where he was earnestly looking into the eyes of 42-year-old construction worker Paul Hatfield.

"This is a way for the president to get out of the Washington bubble and really reconnect with the American people," Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said during a Tuesday briefing. "To be honest, I was a little hesitant about the idea at first, but then the president called me into his office, sat me down, told me to take off my glasses, and looked at me with the most reassuring expression I have ever seen. At that point I was sold."

In the past several days, more than 60 million citizens have had similar calming encounters with the president. Patrons at the Beefside Family Restaurant in Concord, NH, many of whom expressed concern that the country was more divided than ever, were placated Tuesday when the president went from booth to booth making eye contact with every man, woman, and child present. If diners attempted to avoid his glance, Obama maneuvered his head quickly but confidently until he made direct eye contact and held their gaze.

Obama also offered a self-assured stare to more than 24,000 out-of-work autoworkers in New Jersey; all members of the Vermont teacher's union; some 500 West Virginia coal miners; Philadelphia; attorneys and clients in the law offices of Blum, Horowitz, and Mertz; and Pittsburgh native and Hollywood actor Michael Keaton.

"I was waiting for the T when I felt a tap on my shoulder," Boston resident Jarrod Tomlinson, 36, said. "I turned around and it was the president of the United States. Before I could tell him that as a small business owner, I was a little worried that the new health care bill wouldn't offer me the subsidies necessary to provide my employees with coverage, he just grabbed both of my arms, looked into my eyes for maybe five seconds, massaged my shoulder briefly, and walked away."

"And you know what?" Tomlinson continued. "I think everything's going to be okay."

Though recent poll numbers indicate that Obama is slowly earning the trust of Americans throughout the country, some positive effects of his confident glance appear to have been negated by Vice President Joe Biden, who has been busy winking at every American citizen while pretending to shoot them with imaginary finger gun

Here is more evidence that the Odem (i.e., Obama democrats) are lying thieving gangsters working to reduce our Liberty under the rule of law, reduce our Constitutional Government, and reduce our Capitalist Economy.
Quote:
Obama's EPA has already announced that it will use its regulatory authority to impose the Carbon Tax without one vote in Congress or citizens having any voice in the matter.

Even if Obama fails to pass the Carbon Tax through Congress next month, he will still get the Carbon Scheme imposed through the EPA.

The only thing standing in his way is a resolution by Sen. Murkowski's (R-Alaska). This resolution would stop the EPA's global regulatory agenda dead in its tracks.

A vote has been set on the Murkowski Amendment for THIS THURSDAY.

We shall lawfully remove the Odem from our federal government.

@ican711nm,
You've offered no source or citation that your claim is true...

Here. Let me google that for you: http://tinyurl.com/2g2yo8f

You're such a sucker for a meme. Do you think before you cut and paste? Do you even question the propaganda you peddle around? The only evidence you post around here is of your own sad irrelevance.

@failures art,
I don't idealize politicians right or left.

There are some who are more like what I prefer and there are many less like I prefer.

For example, I prefer Sahar Palin over both John MCain and Barach Obam. But there are some politicians I prefer over Sarah Palin.

@plainoldme,
With this post you've removed any doubt that I had that you actually believe conservatives are evil, and not just evil in effect, but evil in intent.

I have to conclude that you truly believe "the right" will do all in their power to "destroy the environment."

This belief in an absolute Evil is interesting in someone who claims to be an enlightened Progressive.

By your estimation, the Right is the ultimate in evil since they are willing to destroy themselves in destroying what is Good, since if the destroy the environment they perforce destroy themselves.

But then again you're so nutty you may very well believe they have some diabolical plan, funded by BP and Haliburton, to ride out the destruction of the environment in space or beneath the surface of the planet.

Who is allowing you to teach anyone?
